They offer sedation dentistry for a reason. Many people do not like to go to the dentist and this makes it easier. Just go.

It's not wussy. I think that wussy is not ever going to the dentist instead of finding a way to face your fears. Just tell them before your appointment so that they have enough time allocated for your appointment.

If it bothers you that much, you should not feel embarrassed to discuss it with the dentist in advance of your appointment. Dentists don't like to deal with patients who are jittery and who might grab their hands and risk injury when they attempt to do their work. You do need to be awake for the cleaning but you could use something to make you relax. Perhaps he would be willing to give you a tranquilizer as long as you go with a designated driver. Make that call.

Not at all. I have lots of patients that have anesthesia for their cleanings. Whatever makes you most comfortable and allows your hygienist to do her/his best job is the best way to go!

Sorry friend, it is too wussy. :) Find a gentle dentist sympathetic to your concerns about dentistry. Or they might give you a little nitrous oxide, that should help a bit.

yes, you can request it, theyll let you as long as you pay. but dont worry cleanings only hurt if you have braces because they use this "sand" stuff to get it really clean since braces hide so much of your teeth. regular cleanings are just like brushing your teeth with slightly more pressure.

Not at all. Tell your dentist your fear, he will be understanding, and may either give you a pill or gas.
