Eat stuff like yogurt, applesauce and mashed potatoes. Soups and ice cream are good too. If you're gonna have spaghetti or something just dont chew it. Same goes with foods like rice and stuff. The only part that hurts is chewing so you can eat whatever as long as you dont chew it.

I got mine about four years ago, got them off this year (don't worry, they don't usually take that long. i kind of miss them actually haha). I know how you feel, the first few days your teeth feel like a huge headache inside your mouth, and even worse when you attempt to chew things.. which is why you should avoid food that you need to chew. Go with soup, drinks, smoothies, green vegetables, stuff like that that doesn't require much chewing. don't worry though, once the 3 or 4 days pass, you'll be just as painless eating anything as you were before braces (though i'd recommend against eating certain things like peanuts or popcorn, small crumbs get stuck in the braces).
Pasta is soft and doesnt require much chewing, so while it will be a little more painful than when you aren't eating, it won't be all that bad, you should be OK. If you can't get it down without chewing, i'd try pressing it against the roof of your mouth since your teeth are sore
good luck, it gets better fast and it's much easier to handle than you'd think

For me, yes most of the serious pain was gone in 3 or 4 days but you can experience sensitivity for up to 2 weeks.
For the first week or more you will need to eat soft foods...at least that's how it was with me...and each time they were tightened.
I also got those energy drinks...the ones that taste like chocolate, coffee, vanilla, etc.
If you don't want to swallow pills for pain relief, crunch them up and mix them with some honey. Or get liquid pain reliever.
If you are of legal drinking age some alcohol might help (-;
Pasta won't hurt but you need to clean your braces each time you eat and pasta will definitely get stuck everywhere. Be prepared.
You will get used to this though and the the tightening doesn't hurt nearly as much and as long as when you first get them on.

Yes, braces ARE painfull. I got my bottoms on today and my tops tightened. You need to take some pain reliever. Eat soft foods for a couple of days. And use thin floss because anything other than that will be SO painful. If you have any other questions about ANYTHING you can add me on yahoo or email me at lupusux@yahoo.com.

I would say stay away from anything that you seriously have to chew probably try mashed potatoes, mac and cheese applesauce,soup, other things like that and for future references wear rubberbands like the orthodontist tells you too if not you will have braces on for longer than they initially tell you you'll have them on. also if you dont like swallowing pills for pain killers i believe that there is a liquid tylenol or sumthing like that. oh and another tip is that although cold things may seem to make the pain go away it tends to come back within minutes and it may feel like it hurts more. hope it helps and good luck with the braces! :D

Okay braces will hurt for a few days. From what i remeber there really isn't any food that you can that won't hurt will your mouth is in pain. My ortho gave me foods of what i shouldn't eat. Things like gum chips and ribs are all i remeber. Pain medicane probably will help. I would recomend taking it. I hoped I helped.

I wore braces for about 4 years, and I ate the same things as before I had them put on. I just had to wait until the pain subsided. It will be over before you know it and they wont hurt at all. When you get them tightened, you will get to feel the pain all over again!!
