With the navy increasing the number of sailors in Iraq, who will be going? What ratings will be sent over there? MAs, SEALS, etc. Will an intelligence specialist in the reserves have a high chance of deployment?

THERE SENDING EVERYBODY. I'm on shore duty and there hand picking people left and right. But across the river is nothing but paper pushing marines and no there not getting called up over there. Its really pissing me off

put in a 1306 talk to your CCC and put in a request chit in. There a lot of paper work you have to do before you even go including a CREDIT CHECK!!!!!! so to me they really don't need anybody

The chances of getting sent there for Navy isn't that great. They are trying to get people to volunteer to go there. Just about anyone can go IA to Iraq but not that many go over to do their actual job. I haven't heard of any Navy reservists being called up. Most of the guys I know in reserves volunteered to do a few yrs active duty.

A lot of the Navy personnel in Iraq are Seabees and Hospital Corpsmen. If you want to deploy, see your reserve command about an individual augmentation assignment.
