My dentist uses a thorough cleaning of the roots and gums. Then he puts his patients on a prescription of two pills a day of 20mg Doxycycline. That pill eliminates the enzyme that prevents calcium from rebuilding in your tooth and jawbone. It is a new technique and the doxycline is FDA approved for it. It is even cheap, about $20 for a 3 month supply.

There is a paste called MI paste and it is supposed to work really well for remineralization. I have seen a lot of patients in the office that I work in that have the white marks on their teeth and we have had some of the worst ones start using it and it has made a difference. It is just something you brush on at night after you brush your teeth and leave it on while you sleep.
