Oh, Honey, you are not going to like this one.
When I was in college, I basically considered myself an Episcopalian, although rather loosely allied. I was friends with the chaplain, though, and one day we were talking about how lots of women were becoming deacons in the hope of eventually being ordained as priests. I said, "So then if I did that, I'd eventually become a priestess, right?" He said, no, they would never use the term priestess, because it sounded too pagan. In my innocence, I asked, "What's so bad about sounding pagan?" He replied that if I felt that way about it, I should go to California and become a pagan priestess.
So I did.

I serve in several ministries. Each time God told me to join them. For instance we had a class at church called Out of the Salt Shaker that was about evangelism. God told me to take the class and I told Him that I didn't need the class because I already had the book from the class and didn't have a problem sharing my faith. But God told me to do what He said so I said I would check it out with the Pastor who was holding the class.
I found out that the class was starting the day after we were adding another worship service to our weekend schedule which meant I could still serve in the children's ministry, attend a service and go to the class which was during the last service. At the end of the class they told us that they believed that God had sent each one of us there for a reason and told us to pray about what God would have us to do. So I prayed and God told me to join the Correctional Institutions Chaplaincy. I'm like "Go to the jail? That doesn't sound like much fun Lord" but God said to do it so I did. Now I teach Bible study at the county jail and I've been able to lead several men into asking Jesus to be their Lord and Savior. I've only been a Christian for about 5 years now so I guess I was about 46 when this happened.

I was 24, and in a rock band in Florida that was experiencing success the way many musicians do. We were just about to showcase in NYC when I realized how unhappy I was despite a life-long dream coming true. God waited for years and years to reach me, and convicted me about the lifestyle and the purpose of my life. He waited until I saw what I thought I wanted wouldn't give me happiness as I had hoped, and I thought I was lost forever..... until He called me to come home and begin learning through the bible what this world is really doing to itself and anyone who refuses to let go of it.
Since then, I've been to India and back....made some travels here in the states to help others do what they needed in the name of Christ, and life means something I couldn't have ever seen or understood otherwise.
