America's foreign policy leaves much to be desired. We constantly send mixed messages to the world. Another point I'd like to make : If a Cuban hijacks a plane in Miami and forces it to fly to Cuba he's a terrorist. If a Cuban hijacks a plane in Havana and forces it to land in America he's a freedom fighter. America is a young nation compared to other countries and it shows.

Osama was not our agent fighting against Russia. That implies that we somehow recruited and brainwashed him to work for us. We did not. He was already fighting the Russians.
The US supported Osama and the Afghanis against the Russians as one military against another. This is not considered terroism. When a military acts against a civilian population THAT is considered terrorism. When Osama started backing the Taliban to force the people to convert to his brand of Islam or be murdered THAT is when he became a terrorist. The US strongly protested the Taliban terrorism.

No, they at that time had not yet passed the CIA final exam in "Terrorist First Class". At that time they were only qualified to be "Jr. Freedom Fighter, second class."

They were not terriorists until the first World Trade center attack. Then we still viewed them as a small group of thugs.
But after 9/11 the world realized they were a real threat to peace on a global scale.
that weapons of mass destruction in their hands they would use them.

Of course not. It's unpatriotic to question allies of the Republicans... until they're no longer useful; then they can be proclaimed (only by good, staunch Republicans, of course) terrorists.
