I doubt if any Dr in the US could or would perform that surgery on one so young. also there is no long term data on the health risks associated with such a drastic change in the human digestive tract.

science and common sense tells us that your cousin will certainly live longer if he loses the weight naturally through diet and exercise than via gastric bypass surgery.

If he/she truly has serious weight problems, age 17 might be OK to receive Gastric-Bypass Surgery. I believe that for the most part, one should basically be an adult before undergoing (what might be called) elective surgery of this type- & only as a last resort. Your cousin should have a consultation with a Doctor who specializes in this field of medicine in order to make sure he/she is a viable candidate for this radical procedure.

Weight loss surgery-like gastric bypass have become very common and very safe now. My cousin got her Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery in India. She has lost more than 65 lbs in 5 months and is very happy with the results. The price for obesity surgery is very less in India. My cousin just paid 25% of the cost she was quoted in America. She got her surgery from a company called Forerunners Healthcare.

Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and magazines. I have read a lot of their patient stories also. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low cost, as Bariatric surgery and weight loss surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that your Obesity surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Hi,

I've tried so many different diets in the last 10 years that I can say now, they don't work!
A few months ago, I came across a great product for weight loss and like many others I was skeptical about it. But I really wanted to lose weight and I tried it. The results were excellent and I lost 20 pounds in 2 months. I felt fantastic and I dropped another 5 pounds safely. That's why I recommend you check this product at http://www.get2itnow.info where they have a free trial and you only pay 6.99$ shipping and handling.
Good luck!

i think hes too young. at his age he can knock the pounds of very quickly. try to discourage him from the surgery and get him into weight lifting or some kind of exersice program.
