Do you know the parable of Lazarus and the rich man? The rich man wanted to go back to earth to tell everyone what he saw in the afterlife. But Moses told him that people still won't believe.
Look at the Pharisees who witnessed miracle after miracle from Jesus or Pharoah who saw the plagues unfold before his eyes.
They wouldn't know proof if it stared them in the face. They are looking for excuses not to surrender to God and more ways to love themselves and their own ways of thinking.

People who do not want to believe in God do so because they do not want to be accountable to God. Jesus said we only need the faith of a mustard seed. That is the smallest seed. And yet, some have none as small as that. Our belief IS based on faith, although there is so much proof all around us. My dad (rest his soul) used to say, "I don't know how anyone can think there isn't a God when they look up into the heavens and see all His glory in the stars."
This is why the Bible tells us not to lean onto our own understanding. We cannot begin to understand the ways of God, and how things got created. Scientists spend their whole lives trying to prove there is no God. How many have died in vain? And they will continue to do so, because those of us who truly believe in our Creator, will never take man's word over His WORD. I know that I won't. I don't care how many scientists THINK they have the answer! I believe in God's Holy Word. If they choose themselves and their arrogance over the Living God, then so be it. They have sealed their fate.

Faith is overrated. All throughout the Bible, God had no problem "showing himself" on a fairly regular basis. He showed himself for the purpose of proving he existed. There were "miracles" left and right. It wasn't until people became more educated, and science was able to explain the things that used to be called "miracles" and used to be attributed to "God" that people started to say that God doesn't show himself, and you are supposed to believe in him based on faith alone. There is no historical precedent to say that we need to believe in him based ONLY on faith. "Faith" is an excuse that was made to dismiss the fact that God never appears. "Just have faith that MY beliefs are true despite the fact that I can not provide one scrap of evidence, or my God (who loves you) will send you to be tortured for all of eternity." It's a complete abandonment of reason, and I'm sorry, but that doesn't work for me.

Please keep in mind, that the Hebrew people in the wilderness saw God time and time again. In the pillar of fire, the water from the rock. The meat in the wilderness, but they still strayed. Its not proof that people are looking for, it is an excuse, An excuse to do what they want without condemnation. To be able to cheat, lie, sleep around, to have no restrictions on their behavior. There for, if there is no god, then there is no punishment, so I am free to do as I please. Only the most mental fool, could look around this world and see the stars, the ocean tides, the wonder of a flower, a sun set, a beating heart and think that it just "is" how blind. We have the proof, we just don't want ot see it. "open the eyes of my heart Lord, I want to see you, I want to see you"

The thing is that while that faith may be enough for some people, other people just can't base their whole existence and belief system on blind-faith alone. We want to know that there is something out there before we base all of our decisions on what higher-power will think.

Well, I agree with you about faith.
However, there are people in this world that see a lot of bad things happen and wonder why God doesn't stop it, so they assume there is no God and would like proof to believe otherwise.

I’m afraid it seems that people are actually evolving INTO apes.
If you’re looking for God on a planet behind some space-hole somewhere like Carl Sagan and the gang, you are never going to find him.
Hey Carl, there really IS something out there, but you can’t see him with the latest technology; rather the earliest.

It's not so much the fact that there is no proof in god. For me it's a lot more. The bull of religion. All of them saying WE are the only way. It's the bull of god saying that belief is more important then the content of your life. It's the religions that preach love but show hate for anyone that doesn't believe as they do. It's not just because of proof that I say there is no god.

You are right, first faith. - Then God shows himself to you in so many ways.
There wouldn't be enough proof for those that are requesting it. There wasn't for the Pharisees, scribes and priest when Jesus walked with them and did all the signs and wonders, so there won't ever be enough, until the day that every knee bows and every tongue confesses.

Some people just want proof. They are incapable of believing by faith alone. Sad the way the world's turning isn't it?
