The word “Messiah” is an English rendering of the Hebrew word “Mashiach”, whose translation is “Anointed”. It usually refers to a person initiated into G-d’s service by being anointed with oil. (Having oil poured on his head. Cf. Exodus 29:7, I Kings 1:39, II Kings 9:3).

In Greek, the word "Messiah" is translated into "CHRIST".

There are many Messiahs in the Bible. Since every King and High Priest was anointed with oil, each may be referred to as “an anointed one” (a Mashiach or a Messiah). For example: “G-d forbid that I [David] should stretch out my hand against the L-rd’s Messiah [Saul]...” I Samuel 26:11. Cf. II Samuel 23:1, Isaiah 45:1, Psalms 20:6.

The Bible has in the past accepted Gentile rulers as messiahs like Cyrus who made the rebuilding of the Second Temple possible through his edict and provision of supplies and materials and funds.

Second Isaiah contains, among other things, a clear example of theological interpretation of history. Cyrus, the Persian monarch who opposed the Babylonian empire, was viewed by the Judeans as their great deliverer. Second Isaiah even uses the term messiah, that is, anointed one, to refer to him in order to indicate the divine initiative behind his mission.

24 "I am YHWH, who made all things, . . . 28 who says of Cyrus, 'He is my shepherd, he shall carry out all my plans.'" 1 Thus says YHWH to his anointed one, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have grasped to subjugate nations before him, . . . 5 'I am YHWH, there is no other. Except for me there is no god. I equip you, though you do not know me.'" (44:24, 28; 45:1, 5)

Jesus is called "THE MESSIAH" because he was to be the last and final Israelite Prophet who was sent as a last chance redemption for the Jews who had killed so many Prophets.

The long awaited Messiah for the Jews, who denied Jesus was a messenger of GOD, will be the "False Messiah" (The False Christ/The Antichrist)

Sir while one might be anointed it does nto make him THE Messiah...many are anointed by God but there is only one Messiah. The Jews are waiting for the Messiah not a Messiah. He was foretold and prophsied to come and he is one not many.

Messiah, the Anglicized word, is a savior. Cyrus was a messiah to the captive Jews in that he allowed them to return to Palestine after many years to rebuild the Temple. Just as the word messiah is used in different ways, the word "savior" is used in different ways in the English Language. But there is only ONE special unique "Savior" Jesus Christ.

It doesn't mean that anybody changed the meaning of Messiah, Christ, or Savior. Because the word fits perfectly with the Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God and Savior of the World. And He is the Unique Son of God the Messiah who died for the sins of the world, ransomed all men who will accept that gift, and rose again on the third day, saving mankind from sin and death.

Just because the Jews did not understand the meaning of the sacrifice of the unblemished lamb and that it was a sign of the coming of the Great and Last Sacrifice of the Holy Messiah. And the Jews who had apostatized from their true religion and no longer understood who the Messiah would be; did not change the fact that Jesus Christ came as the Holy Messiah to save mankind from Sin and Death to everyone who would trust in Him.

"For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever beleiveth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Christ came not into the world to condemn the world but that the world, through him, might be saved" John 3:16-17

Nope as a results of fact the worldview you cutting-edge contradicts the Bible. in case you examine the e book of Romans, it talks lots approximately people who stay by utilising faith are "led by utilising the Spirit". as a results of fact the spirit is holy, if we are led by utilising the spirit, we won't choose sin. even with the undeniable fact that, in specific circumstances we provide in to the flesh wherein we are convicted to repent of our sin and are then sanctified with the aid of repentence. Repentence isn't merely saying "sorry". this is first feeling convicted of sin, then searching for forgiveness and changing to avert that sin interior the destiny. i could be satisfied to talk this further and supply you all the verses, yet there's no longer adequate space right here for them :) to respond to the effortless question, specific you are able to interpret the bible any way you want see you later as: a million. you're taking each and every thing in context as there is mostly a disconnect between language and innovations 2. Your worldview must be consistent with something of the Bible in case you're claiming the Bible is your generic of judgment.

Depends on what your definition of "is" is... don't we all play word games to advance our agendas. I don't recall Cyrus claiming to be God incarnate, or dying for the sins of the world.
