holding in the abs is an isometric contraction which causes by far the least amount of energy to be expended when compared to both eccentric and concentric exercises.

it will help to strengthen the abdominal region but it will have absolutely no effect on fat loss

anytime you contract a muscle you burn calories, that being said, you do burn calories cuz your contracting your mucles. But at the same time your not breathing enough to give your body the oxygen you require to walk and can cause your heart to work harder. Dont do it, you sacrifice to much

your not really burning more calories, but your working out your abs as you walk. so it is a plus.
