The mother WILL NOT east the babies. Make sure that you the mom piggies has plenty of veggies, hay and water. Give the mom a chance to clean up the baby. It is likely that there will only be one baby, especially since you didn't notice her being pregnant. In a few weeks, you will need to be sure to seperate if the baby is a boy. http://www.guinealynx.info/sexing.html

Oh for goodness sake, touching the baby will not make the mother eat it! That is Hamsters! Baby guinea pigs will do just fine. They need to stay with mom for 4 weeks, then separated if a male. They start to eat on their own almost right away, but will nurse for 2-3 weeks. It can be difficult to tell right now for an inexperienced breeder whether it is a male or female. An experienced small mammal veterinary staff member should be able to tell you what it is by then (I do this for people a lot and don't charge them). Pet stores are usually wrong. :)
Always add vitamin C to the diet--either chewable tablets or liquid with an eye dropper. Give about 25mg-60mg a day.

MemphisGal gave you correct advice. The mama pig will NOT eat her baby. If the baby is male, it should be separated from the mama by 21 days or you risk pregnancy again. Look at the links MemphisGal gave you so you can properly sex the pup. If you still aren't sure, take the pup into a vet that specializes in exotics. Sometimes they won't charge you just to tell you the sex of the pup, but call first.
Give the mama & the baby plenty of clean water, fresh hay, pellets, & veggies while she's nursing & the baby is growing. They'll be fine!
Good luck!

i used to raise guinea pigs...the baby will be just fine..the pigs usually have 1-2 babies, any more than that is very rare...the mother will take very good care of it...they will start to eat what momma does in a day or two...make sure you keep plenty of fresh food, water and hay...also you need to put in fresh fruit and veggies as guinea pigs can get low in
vitamin c and can die from this...you can sex the baby yourself, just look on the computer for sexing instructions...it is not that hard...if you have a boy baby you need to remove him at 3 weeks of age as he can breed back his own mother...good luck

KEEP THEM APART! the mom might EAT the baby from being anxious. you should sell one but more babies most likly are acomin. there litters are very large, to know the gender take it to your local vet they know how to tell how to take care of and know what to do with baby, or regular guinea pigs.
