Do I have to individually add the pictures to the memory card by using the COPY function .. or do ALL the pictures I've ever taken .. get transferred to the memory card?

your question is a little confusing, but hopefully i can help. if it's what i'm thinking, and this is a point and shoot, possibly a kodak, i've seen it more on them, there are options in the menu where you can save the photos to the internal memory or the card, and you can also choose to individually transfer photos from internal memory to card or you can transfer them all in one chunk. likewise you should be able to delete photos individually or in a whole lot. if you transfer them to the computer there will be some flexibility in deleting groups of photos at a time. any photo you take should be saved somewhere, either on the camera or on the card, it won't take a photo if there is no room. you can access the photos on the camera or on the card through the review or playback mode, and delete them individually, but to affect where they are stored you have to access the camera's menus. i hope this helps.

You need to connect the camera to the computer with the camera's USB cable then switch the camera on.

The computer should detect the camera automatically and a box should appear on the screen that offers several options. Look for the one that transfers pictures using the scanner and camera wizard. Click on it then click the OK button.

(If the wizard doesn't come up - goto START>All Programs> Accessories> Scanner and Camera Wizard)

The computer will read the pictures on the camera and you can select which (or all by default) to transfer. You can type a name for the group of photos. There will also be a checkbox during this process, that you can choose to delete the pictures from the memory card after they have been successfully transferred. Check that box and your card will be emptied and ready to reuse for more pictures.

All pictures will be transferred unless you uncheck individual pictures at the beginning of the process.

Your camera should either a) automatically use the card when one is present or b) you should be able to go into the camera's menu and choose this option.. Alow me to also suggest a USB card reader as it sounds that your camera might seem a little cumbersome to you.. As far a deleting them ...I don't think That I have seen a camera that doesn't allow deletions straight from the view mode.... I know it takes most of the adventure out of the situation...but you may (dare I say it???) have to read the manual... If you do not have one...Google your camera and find the manual online...Probably a free PDF. By the way...if you are unsure if the pics are on the card or the camera...take out the card and see if you can still view the pics in view mode on your camera.
