How long before the wedding date should we ask a pastor to marry us? We live in a small town and I insist on it being a pastor/preacher/etc as opposed to a legal someone (hope that makes sense).
We do not belong to a church, but have 2 potential men we may ask. The wedding isin't until 6/21/08 and I wasn't sure how long is customary notice.

Not looking for catholic or we would be looking for a priest, not a pastor.

About a year before people/places start filling up their calendars. It never hurts to lock them in early. A few months before the wedding give them a call the make sure they have you penciled in and double check once more the week before the wedding.

the main obligatory factor is to discover somebody who will do the ceremony the way you opt for it to be completed. continually meet them in man or woman first.. Any notary public can do a marriage. they many times are noticeably decrease priced- a hundred greenbacks. make optimistic they are prepared to do the practice wedding ceremony (practice consultation) with you in addition to mght.. you are able to strengthen right into a notary public very actual.. in case you like a chum to marry you- verify you permit the cat out of the bag purely a sprint, lol in the experience that your plan is extra to elope or something- you are able to pass to the magistrate, that's a courthouse wedding ceremony, and that's somewhat the main inexpensive way. They even many times will make some accomodations so you might do a small social gathering afterwards, as long because it particularly is purely a small and short one.

Since you are almost a year away, I would go ahead and mention to him that you are planning a wedding for next June and would like for him to do it. Then ask him how far ahead of time he would like to know all the details, and get back with him then.

I agree, the sooner the better. Most people book about 1 year in advance so better to be too early than too late!
Good luck!

You need to ask now! Most brides and grooms pick their dates over a year in advance and you want to make sure they don't commit to someone else.

I'm assuming your are Christian? Well, if you are catholic, I think you need to go with a year in advance with all the premarital counseling. It really depends on what church you go to. All of them are different. Start calling churches!
