Now that is quite an odd predicament you are in. Not only could this be a legitimate threat but, depending on who broke up with whom and who liked the other more, this could even be a suicidal threat. Either way, you need to find out what is going on first by making indirect contact safely while being extremely polite, apologetic, sympathetic and cautious. If things get worse from there then the next course of action is to contact the appropriate authorities. Good luck.
