refusing to acknowledge god??? it doesnt work like that, athiests dont refuse to acknowledge god...atheists just think god doesnt exist they dont reject him or anything like that...atheists are more open minded towards human beings and christians more open minded towards divine things...since we live sorrounded by mere people and not by gods i prefer atheists...

We believe in God because we are taught to believe in Him, often from a very early age.

An Atheist is more open minded than many believers because he has been able to accept the possibility that there is no God.

An Atheist is not more open minded than an Agnostic, who accepts that he is not sure about God's nature and existence.

An Atheist is also not more open minded than a person who has rejected his original faith, and been able to accept another view of God (Jews who convert to Christianity, Hindus who convert to Islam, that sort of thing.)

No, it's not "refusing to acknowledge god." That implies there is one. Since most atheists were born into a religion, and since they are surrounded by people who claim to believe in a god, it takes some open-minded thinking to come to another conclusion, right?

You are a religious troll in the same way I am an atheist troll. You and I are players in a game of chess that has no real ending. We cannot see eye-to-eye yet we still play. So sad really.

Good luck on your side of the table mate! =)

Now to answer your question: How does making up a rationalization for every logical question make you open minded? Granted, it makes you more creative, but who really denies critical thinking? The person who cannot prove anything they say and clings to outdated nonsense scripture as fact, or the person who thinks that the simplest answer is usually the most correct one?

I have found in my dealings with people that people seem to be all over fairly un-opened minded. A person doesn't become openminded by thinking what someone else tells them to think or following others, this applys to people of faith and atheists as well. There are people who are thinkers and will analyze intellectually a subject, however most that I have met do not.

in case you have been open minded you would be attentive to that Santa Claus is in accordance with a actual individual. The Easter bunny is in accordance with an atheist theory of spring time. that's closed minded to declare technology has all the solutions and shrink all opportunities. attempt looking interior the mirror

asked by someone who is so open minded he states atheists are "refusing to acknowledge God"

open minded means opening your mind to real evidence, not closing your mind because of religious rhetoric

I've looked at the "evidence" for the existence of god. I came to the conclusion there was no god. If you want to say I'm close minded for studying and coming to my own conclusion instead of blindly following something go right on ahead. I'm Captain Obvious. I don't care.

Open mindedness has nothing to do with having faith. It varies from person to person. You can't make general statements, categorize people, and be open minded at the same time.

Atheism just means you don't believe in a god or gods. It's not inherently more open-minded than any other philosophic veiwpoint. Being NON-RELIGIOUS, however is different. It opens your mind to a limitless world of possibilities. Nobody has the power to say to me "You HAVE to believe this!"

I would say that I am tolerant, respectful of others opinion as long as they are not forced on me, liberal, and am ready to listen to knew ideas, but if asked my opinion, I will be honest. Being open-minded doesn't mean that I have to agree with your ideas or change mine. I always have to listen to that little voice of reason. If it doesn't make sense to me, I will tell you so and try to explain why. If you can't stand my opinions, then who is the close-minded one?

atheist

The Atheist Bible, it could be said, has but one word: "THINK." - Emmett Fields
