“Slow down and enjoy life. It's not only the scenery you miss by going too fast -- you also miss the sense of where you are going and why.”

Classic!!

Very true!

It's important to read these things from time to time just as a reminder.

The thing I love most about working from home and playing Mr Mum at the same time is that I'll get off the phone from a client hassling me about a deadline and have to deal with my 2 year old holding an empty cup at me and saying "dink daddy....ppleaassse". It's another good reminder of where priorities lie.

Slowing down and enjoying life - Embracing the essence of that which overflows from the heart.................
Where you are going and why - Remembering the directions and purpose of the intended journey............

I greatly enjoyed Eddie Cantor.........

I think Eddie Cantor never had to work for a living.

The journey and what is gained by the individual for both him/herself and for his/her community/society is often more important than the final destination.

Such is the meaning of the "hero's journey", which each of us are on, whether we realize it or not.

Was this quote by Eddie Cantor, the entertainer? This one is impressed.

May it all be well with you.

Makes sense. Too many people zoom through life without enjoying the little things that make life enjoyable.

Very True Kallan,I often think the best days one has are the ones when you dont even notice them until they are gone.
Much like when our children are young, we get so caught up in the daily grind that we dont often stop to appreciate them while we have them, then when they are grown we pine for the days when we could only fit one leg in the bed because of little bodies!

That's a good one. Going too fast robs one of the opportunity to absorb experiences and perform the constant reevaluation necessary to have a meaningful life journey.

I like it.

I was walking through an art museum and my husband kept telling me all about each peace and when and why it was painted and all the weird things about the artist life.

I tried to hint, but had to ask him to shut up so I could enjoy the artwork, after all life doesn't have comments.

Its pretty obvious, still i had to live a big part of my life living fast, furiously and at random to realize it. I'm not sure i regret those times, I've learned a lot, still the quote is very, very truth

very well put. We all need to stop sometimes and just sit down on the front porch, eat a warm plum picked from our own tree, watch the neighborhood kids go by, and breathe deeply the gathering mists.
