That's different. God always punished captors of the Jews. God was there the whole time Africans were enslaved. The main differences are the same people who enslaved them set them free. (meaning white people) God had to set the Jews free while men set the slaves in the U.S. free.

I also would like to note that the Egyptians had Black slaves too. Rameses the Great had hieroglyphics of Nubian (Black) slaves that were more than humiliating to the Nubians.

That by no means makes slavery ok. As you see I am white but my ancestors are from Czechoslovakia.( The first country invaded by Hitler) So my ancestors were either enslaved or oppressed by Hitler. (I don't know if I'm Jewish or not but that doesn't make Hitler any more likable.)

I think God was there, watching it all happen. In my religion, Islam, we believe that when a baby is concieved, the future of that life is already set and written down. But If you have faith that there is heaven & hell, well God will punish those horrible people who enslaved African Americans and all other kinds on judgement day. Remember there is still karma and maybe it will come back at them today, tomorrow or in a long time.

Oh yeah about the whole moses thing, remeber that he was a prophet and God gave him the ability to use his cane in all ways. And now there are no prophets left, but there still is good, kind-hearted people.

Where was God when the Egyptians took the Jewish people as slaves for more then 200 years?
Isn't Egypt part of Africa?
Maybe it was God's pay back for enslaving His people.

You said that as if all whites hated blacks.. Oh yeah and that stuff about Egypt in the bible isn't true so that just proves you're a moron.

Oh yeah and The Whites got their Slaves from the Arabs who captured the Blacks so you should include Arabs in this question too.. That is if you don't have a bias against White people..

God gave people a free will. It doesn't mean He is always thrilled about everything people do. For that matter where is God when women are being abused, enslaved, and killed in Iraq and places like that, just for being women. What about babies in China, just for being conceived, they are murdered. God is in heaven, waiting, just like us for the right time for Him to return.
God was more free to reveal Himself to people in the Old Testament because Jesus hadn't manifested Himself yet. Now, the punishment for people is simply karma and hell. Back then, God had to show people what was wrong, the race of humans was still at a baby stage if you will...

Where was God when Africans were (and still ARE) enslaving and killing each OTHER for thousands of years before the white man came along?

Or where was God when the Native American tribes were enslaving and killing each other before the white man came along?

Where is God now when people are being bought and sold as slaves in Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Yemen, and about a dozen African countries right now today?

Where is God when women and kids are being bought and sold as sex slaves all over the world right now today?

I'd guess that God was in the same place then, as now.

I often wonder why people never blame anything on the devil. I often sit in the train or tube and hear people say "Oh God" or "Oh Christ", etc, but never "Oh devil". When Britain was invaded (which has happened many times in history- the Romans, the French, the Vikings, the Germans, etc, etc), I bet people were still blaming God. According to scholars of the Bible, it was man who originally decided to turn to the devil by disobeying God, and God (who could have just wiped us all out), who very kindly decided to send a life-rope down in the form of Jesus (who was certainly not white- probably somewhere in the middle), who sacrificed himself for us on the cross. And yet, after all that, there are still many people around who still blame God and never bother to reach our for that Jesus life-rope. And, after all that, they still never have a go at the devil for anything- personally, I think he (the devil) is the bad guy, not God?! Anyway, just a thought. Blessings from The Shepherd.

well they ( the Africans) did trade the Whites guns and things for "their" people so you might want to start there. All Gods like to look at what their people do and see how we handle it.

Same place he was when the Romans enslaved Christians and the same place when anyone is enslaves, tortured, or has anything bad happen to them, NOWHERE. There is no God so it can't be held accountable.

No God, No Problem!!!!!!!

Actually, Africans were enslaved by *other* Africans . . . then by Arabs . . . and only THEN by "whites," who paid for them fair and square. Try reading some history.

As for where God was during all of this, both the OT and NT fully and wholeheartedly support slavery.
