I've heard the only country that defines scientology as a relegion is the USA. Is this true? are there any others?

by the way im not a SCIENTOLOGIST.

I just found it ludicrous that the USA defined it as a relegion and was wondering if any other country had made that definition.

To my understanding the rest of the world has defined it as a commercial enterprise made to exploit the weak of mind.

That an interesting question, I am sure it is many.

Here are four more questions from the below site, there are hundreds more all with answers.

Why do some people oppose Scientology?

Why has Scientology sometimes been considered controversial?

Wasn't there a long battle between the Church of Scientology and the IRS?

Why has the German government tried to portray Scientology as controversial?

Have a look for yourself.

Well despite your particular opinion of my religion it is recognized and operates as an official religion in many countries. It has churches and missions that operate as such in over 160 different countries world wide.
There are different levels of religious recognition.Local and national govts have different rules. In Canada for example, we have provincial recognitions that give us the legal right to perform marriage, and certain areas of the church buildings are exempt from property tax. In most provinces March 13th (Birthday of Founder) is a recognized religious holiday for Scientolgists who work in govt jobs. But our charity laws are different from the USA's.
The new Church in London UK was granted full property tax exemption by the Borough of London as another example.

Regardless it is not upto any government to define a religion since church and state are seperate in most western countries.
The US Govt via the IRS simply audited all the chuches accounts and gave the Church full tax exempt / charity status. It was obviously evident that there was absolutely no profit or "business" involved. They had no choice based on their own laws for all religions .

The German Govt has been asked to do the same by the Chuches in Germany, but they choose not to and prefer to spread false accusations . This is not a new basis of operation for the German Govt with regard to religions.
They made some pretty similar accusations about the Jews just prior to WWll.

It's probably true. It started here in the USA, but if you 'define' Scientology as a religion...you're probably a Scientologist. Other people just see it as a fairly harmless cult, or a fad that a handful of Hollywood celebs have adopted.

From what I understand, the US is the only country that does recognize Scientology as a religion. In the UK, it's growing but not classified as a religion. In Germany, it's banned altogether.

Scientology is a scam perpetrated on the "mentally challenged" by a human who sets himself up as God .
