If you date a girl from the beginning, would it be different from dating a girl whom you have known as a friend for 1 year? How would it affect your relationship?

Most definitely! I have lived and seen it for myself.A serious intimate relationship is about being open, honest, and comfortable with your self and your partner. So if you have these things as friends and then you add a little romantic heat...what you think happens? It's intense I'll give you that much. Keep in mind this isn't true 100% of the time for 100% of couples. Hope that helps.

As a woman, I have noticed that there are three main results from dating a friend.. either a great successful relationship, or one that doesn't work but u still end up being friends, or one that end up real bad and u can't even stand the sight of each other. But its always been said that ppl have better relationships if they are first friends ( works for ppl who are not extroverts). For a more visual and open person, the first attraction works.

Personally I see no difference as the main objective is to become best friends along the line anyhow.

A freind already knows how you are, likes, dislikes etc. That is a plus. Of course, you cant tell lies, cause they already know you. Someone you dont know is more exciting, possibly....
