I have many favorite Bible verses, especially 2 Corinthians 5:7- We live by faith, not by sight.
My favorite story in the Bible is Abraham and Isaac- Abraham was going to sacrifice the son that he has prayed for for many many years because he loved God so much. But God did not want Abraham to harm his son, he only wanted Abraham to do as he asked no matter what. And God saved Isaac. It is a perfect example of how God tests us even when we don't understand the reasoning and keeps us from harm if we follow him.

When I was a kid and while I was reading the bible, my mom asked me to do something. And when I looked up at her, she said, I suppose you have found something in the bible to get out of this. [ Knowing the law is honor thy Father and thy Mother ]

So I showed her the verse;

Lk. 10: 38 Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.
39 And she had a sister called MARY, which also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word.
40 But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.

41 And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:

42 But one thing is needful: and MARY hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

It has been so long ago I do not remember what I did after that, I can only hear here laughing.

Lev 25:44 Both thy bondmen, and thy bondmaids, which thou shalt have, [shall be] of the heathen that are round about you; of them shall ye buy bondmen and bondmaids.

I love this passage since I clearly states that I can own slaves. And since God wrote the Bible, then it can not be wrong.

My favorite verse is Isaiah 49:15,16 It is a prophecy as well as a promise.

15 "Can a mother forget the baby at her breast
and have no compassion on the child she has borne?
Though she may forget,
I will not forget you!

16 See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands;
your walls are ever before me.

Jesus wrote our names in His hands.
