You have asked a loaded question, and you yourself probably have a good idea of the answer. If you are looking for confirmation of what you think you know, and/or the truth of the matter, then ask God for guidance, in prayer, and you will be helped. Since this forum is comprised of spirits from a host of religions and non-religions, you may not get the facts you want, only opinions.
You are on the internet, and there is more data on the truth and corruption of the world's largest religion than you would be able to read in a life time.
Once you, and anyone else reading this, recognize that the entire foundation of that church is based on the lie that Peter the apostle was the first pope, and that he was buried under the Vatican, then you might begin to see the depth of the lies that mankind has been told throughout history. Peter never set foot in Italy, let alone Rome. Peter was the apostle to the Jews, Paul was the apostle to the gentiles. The Bible itself proves that Peter was never in Rome, for if he was, he would have been prominently mentioned in the final chapter of Romans, written by Paul.
The catholic church "says" without proof, that Peter formed the church in the first century. The Bible says otherwise.
Who are you going to believe, God, who gave you the Bible, or the catholic church which gave you, among other things, headlines about a 660 million dollar lawsuit (one of many) due to the sexual molestation of children? Surely you cannot believe that God would endorse or have anything to do with such an organization?
Google this and go from there, and may God be with you.

You know? I really don't care. They can not hide the fact that they have no proof of their claims. The earliest writings about Jesus date to at least a decade after his alleged death and are just letters between believers. The first writings that contain anything about a life of Jesus date to at least 40 years after his death.
At this point some kind of big smoking gun evidence that the Jesus legend is false is just plain moot. It doesn't matter. The whole story has already been tossed onto the "more human legends" pile.

Absolutely. My partner was involved in a group of Knights Templar who are/were in the Holy Land to rescue any old texts and scrolls that surface BEFORE the agents of the Vatican (i.e the Jesuits) can get their hands on them and make them DISAPPEAR. The KT actually managed to get hold of TWO "Arks", which were discovered in a secret cavern around the Dead Sea, and are now hidden away somewhere in North America where the Jezzies can't find them! Also, I can tell you all these "tombs" and "relics" of "Jesus" that are being "discovered" nowadays are all FAKED by the RCC in order to deceive the faithful and bolster their fading authority.

Do the Lutherans hide secrets about Martin Luther, oh, say, that he was a transexual Martian? Do the Methodists have John Wesley's body in cryogenic storage, waiting to resurrect him? How about the Episcopalians -- think they have millions of green stamps hidden away in the vaults, just hoping that S&H comes back so they can redeem them for a new cathedral?
Those conspiracy and "hidden secrets" make just about as much sense as this question. I can't believe people put stock in such nonsense.
Then again, there *are* people who still think Elvis is alive.
Edit:
Yep, sure can. He stopped breathing, just like all the rest of them.

You have to remember that the church is a political power, with the Vatican being the seat of that power.
Like all political groups, they undoubtedly hide various things from the general populace. Whether or not it's of the magnatude that they show in movies, etc. remains to be seen.

No, that's only true in the fictitious books like the Bible Code and the DeVince Code. I guess the real Holy Bible and the Catechism of the Catholic Church are just to boring for the average reader.

The Church through the centuries has been open about things both good and bad. There is no evidence that anything has been hidden except maybe some prophetic revelations.

No, I don't.
I believe that they de-emphasize things from time to time, like the actual eighth ecumenical council, which was illegally condemned in 936, or the heretical council that was elevated to ecumenical status at that same time.
