I'm very confused about this. Someone told me that they cant have their own kids, why is this?

there are many reasons, hormonal imbalance, congenital birth defect, scarring from previous surgury or illness, genetic complications if a woman attempts to concieve, etc. Most women can have babies, that why its so sad when a woman can't, she literally has failed her genetic destiny. The feild of infertility medicine has given new hope to many women who in the past would be labeled "barren" and have died alone.

I see most explained the fertility side of it but the question could mean this:
Some women can't have their own kids because they have done something wrong to their children or are negligent at taking care of their children.

My (adoptive) mom had a lot of hormonal problems and had to get a histerectomy (not sure on the spelling) and so she wasn't able to have her own kids (which is a good thing for me, i guess...) And some women are just infertile, and there's nothing they can do

Could be for any number of reasons, medical problems, physical problems, etc. There are a hundred different reasons why someone would not be able to have children.

Infertility. When a woman is infertile, then she cannot have children. This could be caused by a few things. PID (pelvic inflammatory disease) -- which leads to scarring. Hormone problems.
Also, the man could be infertile. He could have a low sperm count.

If you mean they can't have their own kids as in someone took them away from her it could be from a lot of reason. No money (utilites are turned off). They drink excessivly, drugs, child abuse many things could be the reason.

Not just men can be infertile. If something is wrong with her ovaries or or ovulation cycles then she might be infertile. Totally possible

some people cant have children for many different things .i dont think that its because that they dont want to its just that they cant.
