Stem cell research? I am not talking about cloning, just the general research on diseases and the treatment/cure of them.

On a personal note, I think that the promise of curing so many illnesses and diseases, how can we not agree to it.?!
Unfortunately, the people who argue over the "moral implications" seem to keep winning out.

But here is just something to think about....
Why are they worried?
Who in their right mind would want to clone any of those tunnel visioned, closed minded, ignorant, opinionated egomaniacs with inferiority complexes?

Just my thoughts....

I think that as long as it does not become a human being and as long as it is dealt with responisbly and does not tamper much with nature while working with the natural way of things then it can help save peoples lives and cure things that never could be before. The important thing is to make sure its handled responsibly and works with nature instead of against it. I am a Pagan/Heathen, still a part of Paganism but leaning towards Asatru.

I think it is so promising to cure illnesses and incapacity due to injury, and I think it is criminal that the goddamn Bush administration has put so much restraint on it.

I suspect he might reconsider if he suffered a broken spinal cord and had to pee in a bag. That hypocrite.

I am reasonably optimistic that the next administration will be Democratic and that whoever is in the White House will give free rein to stem cell research!

Let's hope!

Personally, I'm a supporter. Pagans, like all other groups of people, will have different beliefs with this issue. As you know, being a Pagan doesn't mean you believe like all other Pagans!

For curing diseases I would say I'm for it. Any cloning I'm against. I don't like genetically engineering food either.

My thoughts are that anything we can do to eliminate things like Parkinson's, ALS, cancer, or Alzheimer's should be done quickly.

I do not agree on "creating" embryos specifically for use in stem cell research, but aborted fetuses, "extra" embryos slated for destruction, etc, sure, why not? Then good comes from bad.

Good Question!!
It is a personal decision, as you know we are not told what to think or believe by some outdated doctrine.

I think that if it was not meant to be done then we would not be able to do it.
Simple.

I see nothing wrong with it. Recycling is a good thing, and that includes animal and plant life. Why throw away something that can be of use?

I don't believe we should mess with that stuff. I am pagan, but i still believe in fate, and stem cell research would not be part of that. I believe if people were to stop murdering their own babies in abotion clinics, we might have had more cures and things like that.
