The Bauer ,25 automatic pistol was a stainless steel identical copy of the Baby Browning .25 auto and was manufactured from 1972-1984.
Fishhunt1987 obviously has this gun confused with some Saturday night special made by someone else.
The Bauer was not considered expensive selling for $100 retail back then, but was actually a well made gun and one of the first handguns produced in all stainless steel. The power of the .25 auto was always limited, but this was a decent pocket pistol for close up "encounters" of the bad kind. They do have some collectors value and are worth in the range of $130-150 now in excellent shape. The Bauer production facility did in fact burn to the ground in 1986 after production stopped.

JD's right, the Bauer BAby was a nifty little pocket pistol.
I had one for a while and the only fault I found was the tendency for the safety to work off when carried in a pocket.
Since I didn't care for a striker fired pistol with the safety off to be pointed at my family jewels, I traded it to a friend for an Iver Johnson TP-22. We were both very happy with the trade.
I also agree that Fishhunt doesn't know what he's talking about in this case.

I had one of these and my brother-in-law talked me out of it. Very nicely made stainless steel jobbie; just like the baby browning. It cost me 90 frogskins way back when and would probably be worth 150 or thereabouts today. You always had to be careful of that 25 caliber though; if you shot somebody with it they tended to get mad and cause you hurt.

I'm not meaning to sound rude or anything but A cheap gun will always be a cheap gun no matter what.
