Does anyone know just how fast a p-71 police crown vic can top out at? I think i have a rare one thats been rechipped....has sticker on the dash like most police crown vics do that warns you to use overdrive during high speed pursuit,,,,,except this one has additional wording on bottom that says "speed capability this vehicle150 mph", I s this possible? I opened it up one time and it went into over drive at 120 mph....i didnt have the driveability at that time to continue that kind of speed, but it was increasing dramaticly. anyone know just how fast it will go? also this one has 225/55/16 tires goodyear gs-1. Im really curious about this police car.....thx serious answers only

The car is definately capable as the others said. I drove one for a bit on patrol, then upgraded to a 2005 model. As for the tires, most cop cars are equipped with Goodyear Eagle RS-A brand, but are only available for puchase by the Govt. and police forces in some states. I couldnt tell you about GS-1 tires cause I never had them. Be careful about driving those retired cop cars too fast. There is always a reason agencies do away with their cars.

Yes it can....just make sure all of your suspension components, brakes, tires, etc. are up to the task of handling such speeds.
My brother owns 3 of the Interceptor Vics (98 & 2-99s) and I can personally attest to their capabilities. Oddly enough, at 140 plus, the car seemed to squat more, almost as if the aerodynamics of the car lent well to handling such speeds.

If the door panel says 150 then I would think that it will do the 150. Anything over that, I'm not so sure that the car would be stable due to aerodynamics. That should be fast enough. good luck.
