I think that, to be consistent, some would have to believe that it is wrong to watch any movie or TV show that dabbles in witchcraft, magic, or casting spells. That depends on what principle they rely on in rejecting the Harry Potter movies. People need to think through their objection and apply it consistently.
I am a Christian, but think it is ridiculous that some Christians defend watching "the Lord of the Rings" even though it contains magic, sorcery, and spells, simply because it was written by a believer but reject the Harry Potter moves because it contains magic, sorcery, and spells.

Actually the original Cinderella story is an excellent teaching tale of calling upon the archetypal feminine spirit to achieve one's potential in the face of adversity... so yeah that's pretty witchlike!
