Matthew 24:37-39 is where this is found in the Bible, but something went on before the flood that displeased God.

The main points are they were wallowing in wicked behavior but took no notice of the warnings God gave through Noah and family of the consequences of God's displeasure. Since they did not listen, they died. God is not one to be mocked. He will not put up with bad behavior indefinitely. He waited till those who remained faithful to Him were safe. Then He ended those lives.

The same thing happened in the prophecies first fulfillment in 68CE. When they saw the "disgusting thing" in the temple, they ran for the safety of the mountains. A few weeks later, the Romans returned to the temple, tore it to the ground and slaughtered every Jew they could find. Those that "sort of" listened and paused to pack also were killed by bandits along the way to the mountains. Those who obeyed were not stopped or killed as they had nothing the bandits wanted.

In the fulfillment today, people are just as wicked as in Noah's day. They are being told their days are numbered and almost up for this wicked system and its supporters. They laugh. "We have heard that for years! I have my own belief. I don't have to do anything. You are just a bunch of crack-pots. Your funny looking." And they laugh and take no note. They wrongly assume it is because God will not do anything. Just as in Noah's day. 2 Peter 3:9 explains God is "not slow respecting His promise, but desires everyone to attain salvation." The last boards are being put in place....

The answer is in Genesis 6:1-22

Genesis 6:1-2
1 When men began to increase in number on the earth and daughters were born to them, 2 the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were beautiful, and they married any of them they chose.

Before the flood angles could take on a human form and came to earth and married the daughters of human men.

These woman gave birth to a race called "Nephilim". The bible also referred to them as "giants".

The offspring, (The Nephilim) were evil, wicked and violent.

Genesis 6: 5-7
5 The LORD saw how great man's wickedness on the earth had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time. 6 The LORD was grieved that he had made man on the earth, and his heart was filled with pain. 7 So the LORD said, "I will wipe mankind, whom I have created, from the face of the earth—men and animals, and creatures that move along the ground, and birds of the air—for I am grieved that I have made them." .

Genesis 6: 11 And the earth came to be ruined in the sight of the (true) God and the earth became filled with violence.

Because Noah was a righteous man he found favor in the eyes of God. God told him to build an Ark.

There are know more Nephilim because they were destroyed in the flood but the earth has become full of violence again kind of like it was back then.

While Noah was building the ark God told him tell everyone what was going to happen and if they wanted to live they would have to change there ways and get into the Ark. Noah did not know the hour or day when the flood would happen, but he new is was coming. That is what Matthew 24:37-39 is referring to. Just like now we do not know when the end will come. (Armgeddon) Revelation 16:16

God will be coming with a vengence. He is not happy and he will not be any happier when He comes back. We are all going to be caught off guard and there won't be a darn thing we can do about it. Getting right with God takes along time. You can invite Him into your heart and ask Him to be your personal saviour. You can repent your sins and ask God for the blessing of salvation. We are human though. We practice daily not to sin, but inevitably they sneak in. Asking for forgiveness once, doesn't make you obsolete from further sins. We must practice everyday. We must ask for direction everyday. We must pray everyday for those around us and for our iniquities as well. I am ready for God's second coming. I am very excited that it might even be in my lifetime. Being a good person (i.e Christian) is something we do daily, like shower or work or exercise. There's no slacking because God's tolerance isn't what most people think it is. You turn your back on him for a second and He'll turn his back on you for a lifetime. Just keep studying the word, ask for direction and clarification and God will smile on you. God Bless

That's an interesting point. We'll notice that we have a pattern in Genesis, from the many who become one in Noah, and ride the flood upon the ark, to again many from the one in Abraham which becomes a flood of peoples, nations, tongues, that envelope the Earth and eat it up. That being so the inversion of the Noe (Noah) story would suppose that. But let's look at it this way for a moment. That the BODY OF CHRIST is Noe, and the Ark is the CHURCH, and that the flood Noe rides on is the sea of people's nations and tongues as in the Apocolypse (Revelation) . . . that being so, as JESUS has said that as it was in teh days before Noe it would be in the last days. Therefore we would have to agree it is indeed that sort of thing, where people continually yearn for wicked things in their hearts, and murder, rape, and have their fornciations.

But at the end of it all there will be a Rainbow, filling the sky and the gentle peace of the dove who bares the olive branch to indicate dry land is near and we may rest in the PROMISED LAND OF PARADISE. And GOD will never again destroy all flesh from the Earth.

LOVE your neighbor as yourself.
Amen.

:responsorial edit: i am building an ark (figuratively speaking) but i'm being mocked for it. Nobody seems to take notice.

Verse 38 says they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that No'-e entered into the ark.
I say they were to busy to listen to an old
man preaching the truth of God.After all, what
was this thing called rain. This old stupid preacher doesn't know what he's talking about.
Who in his right mind would want to get on board that stupid church(I mean)ark.
Do you see the contrast,of then and today?
people eating, drinking, marrying(in mockery).Scoffers, lying, stealing, killing, false accusers, calling good evil and evil good just
as Jesus said it would be just before his return.

There are still a lot of blind people out there. Sin is almost destroying the world. Lust and fornication is a stronghold in most people's lives today. If only they would learn what the Bible has proven to us, I'm sure it would make them think again and understand that, what is happening in the world today, is also Biblicly prophesied. Soon we shall all know the truth, believe it or not. And, soon could be tomorrow or in thirthy years time. I'm glad I'm ready, are you?.

If it happened then, it is physically impossible for the same thing to be happening now, it would be a violation of the time-space continuum.
