The Earth is accepted by scientists to be around 4.5 billion years old.

What is your belief system? I used to follow in goose-step with the 'science' crowd (it is not science, more of a mythology), and BELIEVED it to be 4.5 billion years old. Study evolution. They keep pushing the clock back, because they are finding that 4.5 billion years of evolution won't get you a jar of pond scum let alone millions of life forms.
Lets go by TRUE science. We know for a fact that the Earth is 6500 years old. After that, all the dating techniques are up to 75% inaccurate. No ethical scientist will claim it. The biased ones say "well, it is the best system we have". NOT good enough to be classed as science.
They cannot predict the weather more than 3 days out with any degree of accuracy, why should I believe they can look back billions of years and call it science?
I work on a whale watching boat. Almost every day they blather on about how whales have arms and legs, and they didnt like it on land and moved back to the water.
Ok, cool. I want to see the video on that one. When was it? What conditions? The truth is, it CANT be proven. It is faith-based the same as any religious doctrine.
I KNOW the Earth is at LEAST 6500 years old. This coincides with the 'sudden' appearance of advanced civilizations around the world cropping up not long after.
This directly conflicts with the idea that ancient man was a knuckle-dragging idiot. They had advanced knowledge of Astronomy and math. They developed the wheel, metal, music, the list goes on. We are only building on their discoveries.
Man did not evolve. We were specifically designed by 'some higher power'(I can't say God, it might offend someone).

There are hundreds of natural ways to measure the age of the Earth, such as measuring the decay of Earth’s magnetic field. Most of these methods provide evidence for the Earth being no older than 150,000 years.

Scientists believe the earth to be 4.5 billion years old.

I really don’t know how old the Earth is because I’ve only been here since 1969.
I am guessing it is somewhere between 6,000 and 4.5 billion years old, give or take a day or two.

The earth is certainly very old... it would be silly of me to guess how old it is... these people that estimate it's age talk as if there were around, when God first created it... the bible does not say how old the earth is... the 6000 years is not a record of the earth's age, but a record of the creation of man on the earth...

I know the conventional wisdom would give you the answer of somewhere around 4 to 5 billion years old. The young earth theory has a lot of merit. It is basically says that the world wide flood that took place a the time of Noah gives geologists a distorted record in the rock layers you see in the Grand Canyon and other locations around the world. Their claim is therefore that the earth is about 10 to 20 thousand years old.

Well, almost 6000. It makes sense in many aspects...Scientists say "millions"..but that is comical in part to the very flawed radial-13 carbon dating theory system they use to "solidify" this, and in part to think that people could have not been wiped out due to over or under population for that long period of time. Another way it makes sense....First off one must uinderstand the Sabbath commandment (Exodus 20). Last day of the week (look at any calendar to find out that it is SATURDAY) The Seventh day was given as a rest for man. A day of relations concentrated on the Father, and for the good mankind, set aside all worries and work.
If we are alomst at the brink of 6000 yrs, then we have the "thousand years' spoken of in Revelation, which would bring us to the 7000, or the Sabbath rest, "when eternity beings" dont forget to examine Revealtion to see what happens at the end of the THousand year peace reign, the rest of the dead are raised form the grave and the Judgement occurs...so it makes sense to say that we are close to the 6000 year and when that dawns the 1000 peace reign on the earth will begin, then after the 7000th, after the Judgement Eterniy will begin, or our Undying Sabbath Rest.,
Remember to study the Scriptures for yourself, dont just go with what people are saying or teaching. THere is so much in Revelation that is GROSSLY misinterperated and spread about and many, many people believe these things, because they are too lazy too look for themselves. But God gives each of us our own wisdom and desires for us to understand Him in our own, unique, individual minds and hearts...

Genesis 1.1

"In the beginning God created the heaven AND the earth."

When was the heaven created?

In the beginning.

When was the earth created?

In the beginning.

So if BOTH the heaven AND the earth were created in the beginning, they were BOTH CREATED SIMULTANEOUSLY.

Which means...

The Heaven (or Universe) AND the Earth are the same age.

The earth is only about 6 or 7 thousand years old.I believe this. The idea of it being in the millions is NOT proven, only imagined. We only have that many years of human history.Time/Space/Matter had to of come into exsistance at once.If you have time and matter but no space--where do you put it?If you have space and matter but no time--when will you put it?God answers this in Genesis 1:1
"In the beginning(TIME)God created the heaven(SPACE)and the earth(MATTER)."

About 4.5 billion years old, but remember, it was the product of acretion of matter, and that took a long time. There is no particular birthday.

4.5 billion years ago it looked nothing like it did today, of course. It was very hot, the atmosphere was a mixture of carbon dioxide, methane, and other unbreathable gasses, and what little water there was stayed near boiling temp.

Ask this question in GEOLOGY not religion, if you are after an accurate answer. ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS LOOK AT THE VARYING ANSWERS AND THE STUPID INTERPRETATIONS OF WHAT THE BIBLE SAY'S IN THESE ANSWERS TO KNOW THEY ARE GUESSING OR FRANTICALLY SEARCHING THROUGH VERSES FOR AN ANSWER.
IT'S QUITE PATHETIC.
