Uh, not me. Harry Potter has nothing to do with Witchcraft. It's purely fiction, the spells that he spews are fiction. It really bugs me that people who have no clue what witchcraft is about but only think they do because of what some book that was written over 2000 years ago tell them. I mean really people, Harry Potter and his spells are MADE UP! If it's just like doing witchcraft then 8 million kids are going strait to hell.

If you are a follower of Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit has convicted you to not watch Harry Potter movies, then you shouldn't do it. Others following in Christ may watch them with a clear conscience and be perfectly right before God. This is an issue for each believer to take to God.

I believe it is similar to the issue the New Testament church had regarding the eating of food sacrificed to idols. Sacrificing to idols was forbidden, eating food sacrificed to them was not. Still some would not be able to do so in good conscience. Others would be perfectly fine in doing so. Practicing witchcraft is forbidden, watching movies about witchcraft is not. Some will feel convicted and need to stay away from the films. Others will not.

It's a fictional story. Have you even read any of them or watched any of the films? I think those who start flinging accusations should at least sit through one of the films before you start bashing it!

The thing that is most of the people that read the books, or watch the movies, don't even really care about the magic...they are interested in the lives and problems of the characters!

I have NEVER heard anyone, adult or child, talk about how cool that spell was! It's always about the mystery of Harry's life, and how he is going to defeat his enemy? Sure some kids might like to pretend to be wizard or witches, and emulate their favorite characters, but that's because they like the CHARACTER not the fact that they use magic!

The magic part is simply a backdrop NOT the focus of the story. That part just makes the story a fantasy! It might be the part that pulls you in but not what keeps you reading. I don't think it would be the phenomenon it has become if is was only about magic!

Do you think Star Wars is evil too? They use the Force. What about Cinderella? Or just about any Disney animated movie for that matter?

It's just so silly of anyone to get bent out of shape about a fictional story! If you don't like it, don't buy it! It's that simple!

Aren't there other much more important problems to worry about in the world besides fictional children's books?

Oh,it is not! It's like watching a fiction movie.
There is no difference between this and The Wizard of Oz.

There are witches in Snow White, Hansel and Gretel, etc.

It all depends on where your mind is. If you want to make something horrible about anything, you can do so.

Grief! Chill......this is harmless fun, great entertainment, and the books and movies show great creativity.

Our children need to be more creative. HP has done more to increase a love for reading than anything in a long time.
GO Harry! Go Harry!

Watching a movie and doing witchcraft are two totally different things, lighten up! As long as you don't let the movie effect you and you actually end up doing witchcraft, why are you so stingy? Lay off Potter!

There are lots of things that happen in our world that we would consider to be wrong. Watching the act being done does not make you a partaker of it. If you watch a game of football on the television does this makes you a football player or for that matter does this suggest that you are playing football?

On our walks of life we will have personal convictions about some things. This is just God's way of shaping us up not other people, because everyone is different and our likes and dislikes will vary as well as our level of consciousness to things.

Personally, i am knowledgeable that some of these movies actually entertain the presence of evil spirits, but i am also aware that they cannot harm me because I am covered by Jesus. Therefore, if i am at a place viewing such things, i am not in the least bit worried.

God bless

I've seen all the Harry Potter movies, but for some reason I still can't do that kind of magic. What am I doing wrong?

It's not doing witchcraft unless you practice what you're seeing. Reading is a big difference that acting out what's there. But, if you feel strongly about this, then perhaps this or similar books are not for you. God might be placing these doubts in your heart for a reason. Follow you heart.

Me. If it's "just a movie" then why are so many people abosoutely crazy about it? ?Each and every book and Harry Potter movie have made millions and millions of dollars. Have you ever seen such hype about anything else? they must all be under a spell. J.K Rowling is one RICH WITCH!!!

My mother! I was telling her how I had almost been sexually assaulted outside of my hotel in Philadelphia. Two strange men who claimed they were from Saudi Arabia walked up to me and started talking about my body and asking for kisses among other things, and saying how I "looked like a little girl" (creepy). Thankfully, a cab drove up at that moment so I was safe.

I told her how this had happened yesterday morning when I had left for the airport.

"That's very bad, very bad..." she said. And then she said, "Jesus does not approve of that book."

Apparently she was talking about the new Harry Potter book that I bought at the airport and had in my bag! As if a children's book about flying on brooms and talking in Latin were somehow shameful, but a potential rape was nothing!

Shows you the insanity of fundamentalism, I guess.
