No not to worry about metal detectors, but don't get an MRI with it in or your tongue may be ripped from your mouth!

Not to worry. I have piercings all over and I had no problems going through the airport detectors. GL

Could be. I once had shoe buckles that kept beeping. If you go through and beep, just immediately tell them you have a piercing. Most likely they will use a hand-held metal detector to check.

I hope you are not planning to smuggle something! lol!
Small metal objects give very small alarm which usually they ignore.
