Peter's vision of things clean and unclean was in reference to the Jews and Gentiles...The Jews felt that the gospel was only for them...they were the clean and the Gentiles regarded as unclean.....God pointed out with the vision that nothing was clean or unclean that all are welcome to the Gospel.....
this did not cancel the dietary laws...this is a wrong application of a verse taken out of context.....
If pig was no longer unclean then why did the sacirifice of a pig by the Romans in the temple desecrate the temple?
that which is unclean to eat is still unclean to eat.. pig, rat, cat, dog, bat, vulture, crab, lobster, shrimp, squirrel, skunk.....
it is Deuteronomy 14.....why would the health laws change??
How can anyone claim that the new testament did away with the old testament dietary laws?....how could any christian who owns and can read their Bible come up with such an idea!!!

To the Christians and other non-Jews:
You have not been freed from any laws in the Torah. Why? Because you were never bound by them in the first place EXCEPT the 7 Noahide Laws - and you have never been freed from those. They are eternal. Nor has anyone "fulfilled" them for you. If you think so, try breaking them and see how far you get.
1. Do not murder
2. Do not steal
3. Do not commit adultery
4. Do not commit idolatry
5. Do not curse God
6. Do not tear the limb from a living animal to eat (prohibition against cruelty to animals)
7. Do establish courts of law for a fair and just society for all, including the poor and widows.
So go eat pork if you want to. Go charge interest if you want to. You have ALWAYS been free to do so, long before Jesus. This is the reason for establishing courts of laws in society, to make sure there is a fair and just society for all.
If the court of the country decides that charging interest is wrong, then you follow that. If not, then don't. It is up to each society to create their courts of law, with whatever laws they believe will contribute to and assure their society's security with fairness and justice for everyone. These are the laws non-Jews are to follow, along with the 7 Noahide Laws.
Jews also follow the laws of the courts of the land in which we live. As well as the 613 laws we are commanded in the Torah to follow by God, and these also include the same 7 Noahide Laws that the non-Jews are to follow. These laws are eternal. They are not able to be "fulfilled" by a human sacrifice named Jesus (human sacrifice is an abomination).
As for the rest of the laws in the Torah that apply only to Jews, you cannot be freed from something you were never bound by. There is not now, and never has been, anything to free you from. Nothing. Zilch. Nada.

God laid a table before Peter in a vision and told him to eat. The table was filled with previously forbidden foods and Peter would not eat. God told him that from there on, these foods were no longer unclean. I don't know what you mean about interest. I have never charged anyone interest, neither has any other Christian I know. Businesses charge interest, but being in a so-called Christian country does not make everyone a Christian.

The prohibitions on food were actually changed in the New Testament. In the Book of Acts, Chapter 10, Peter had a vision in which a sheet descended from heaven containing all kinds of creatures--forbidden creatures per Leviticus. A voice commanded him to eat. He refused, because Levitican Law told him that he couldn't eat these "unclean" foods. This happened a few times, until Peter answered that he had never eaten anything "unclean." The voice spoke again and told Peter that what God had made clean, Peter should not call unclean.
As far as interest, that's one that the anti-gay crowd chooses to overlook. As long as they never waiver on the verses they claim are anti-gay, they can pretty much ignore or justify not following anything else in Scripture.

Gentiles were never "under the law". The Torah is NOT abolished. Read Matt 5:17. If it was abolished then why did Paul offer sacrifices? The only requrements for non-Jews are the & Noachid laws. Or more specifically the prhibitions in Acts during the Jerusalem council. I get tired of all this under law stuff by people who never under the Law to begin with. and yes pork is an unclen meat. If you read the First five books of the bible you will understand why G-d prohibits what He does. It was not to inconvenience Israel, but to set them apart as a holy nation and a nation of priests. Yeshua(Jesus) didn't eat pork, Paul didn't eat pork, as well as the disciples. The acts vision had nothing to do with food. If you read further it explains that the vision was about people. You see Peter did not want to go to Cornelius' house because it was rabbinically forbidden to enter a house of an uncircimcised man. G-d was telling him not to call unpure what He has made clean by the blood of the Messiah. So it was about circumcision. JUst read it and you'll see that. As for the interst thing you not not to charge a brother in the faith interest. The law of G-d is eternal. That is why when you read the Torah it says numerous times that they are to be an EVERLASTING commandment for the people of Israel and any alien who joins himself to the children of Israel. If the Torah is not everlasting then the whole word of G-d is lie, just like if Yeshua wasn't raised then our faith is in vain. The only thing that changed was the covenant not the Law. The law and the covenant are two different things. The new covenant is that G-d wrote his law on our hearts as it says in Jeremiah 31. Besides if the old covenant was abolished then it must be kay to murder, lie, dishonor parents, steal, covet, commit adultery, provide false witness and so on. I think you would agree that those are not okay. But those very commandments are in the "Old Covenant".

I make a point of not charging interest in collecting payments for my business. The pork thing was reversed in Peter's vision on the roof in Acts and legalism was replaced by grace with Jesus. However it still makes sense not to eat pork given the digestive system of pigs. It's just not a law.

That was in the old testament. Christians follow the teachings of Jesus Christ and he himself never told his disciples not to. Also, many Christians do not eat pork or charge interest so don't just assume that we all do.

You are mistaken. At Acts 10:9-16, Peter was told by God to eat things that, under the law covenant would have been considered unclean. Peter refused on that basis. Finally he was told to stop calling defiled the things God has cleansed.”
As far as the charging of interest, even under the law it was not wrong to charge interest for business purposes. However the Law forbade the charging of interest on loans made to relieve poverty. It was wrong to profit from a destitute persons financial reversals. Although Christians are not under the Law, we are under love. It would not be loving to charge interest on loans to relieve poverty.

I dont eat pork because it gives me an upset tummy. Although I do have the freedom to eat it under the new testament, as long as my eating of it doesnt cause another to stumble.

Jesus said:
Matt 15:11 Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.
and the only laws regarding eating to the Gentiles was:
Act 15:29 That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well, Fare ye well.
