My soon to be cousin in law who lives in Utah (I'm in WA State) just emailed me saying her friend is telling her that she got raped by her Uncle a few months ago and now thinks she thinks she is preg. What do I tell this 12 YEAR OLD to do???

Call Child Protective Services in Utah,
report what she told you,
and ask them for advice.
Does the environment she lives in condone such behavior?
Knowing that would help in analyzing the situation.
If her parents don't condone it, I'd encourage the child to tell her parents. If they do, I'd encourage her to tell the authorities & ask for their suggestions. They have experience handling such cases. She could tell school authorities (counselor, nurse, teacher), or her doctor, or call CPS herself.

You need to tell the 12 year old she has to go talk with her parents or the police. She needs to see a doctor. Can she trust her friend to be telling the truth? And if so she needs to do something fast before something else happens. Sorry to hear she was raped she needs counseling also. Maybe you need to call her parents and say hey I just got this e-mail and I can't let it go. Your daughters friend was raped and might be preg. Please talk with her let me know how it goes. Someone will be mad along the way but, when someone needs help nothing much you can do about it.

Go with her friend to planned parenthood. If there is an adult that they trust to tell then have them go with her. The sad part is she waited so long so abortion is not possible, but prenatal care is very important so she needs to go to medical care as soon as possible. Planned parenthood can see her without a parent's consent I think, not sure of the age issues, but someone can call and find out before hand. They also have counselors available to discuss options. If your cousin can trust her mom maybe she can get her to take them. Don't know but its worth a shot.

This uncle needs to spend some time in the legal system. Get this girl to tell her friend to confide in a parent or a police officer. Especially if she turns out to be pregnant, then they'll have irrefutable evidence and he'll go to jail, guaranteed.

Report to the local police (where she lives) what you heard. Give the name of the victim if you have it. If not give them your cousin in laws name and address.
