I dont like her anyway. but it was nothing real personal, it's just I came in 20 minutes one day, and she gave me my lunch almost two hours late. State law requires that we have our break no later than 5 hours into our shift, and it was 5 hours and 45 minutes, when i usually get my lunch 4 hours in.
So I reported her to HR and said I was putting in my two weeks. Now my other supervisors are telling me please don't quit, and i said okay. Now that I've decided to stay, I am afraid of what this lady that I reported is going to do to me in retaliation. She knows i reported her and said "She came in late." But I wasn't late enough to justify that kind of late lunch!
I wouldn't have reported her, except that other people's breaks and lunches were really late. And when I told her my lunch was so late, she didn't say sorry, or thanks for understanding. she said "Well, that's what happens when people call in sick and when people show up late." What kind of an answer is that?

I will add that before i reported her, i talked to her at least four times in those two hours about my lunch and she kept saying "Im bringing someone to relieve you, im bringing someone." and i was waiting for two hours and... no one came.

I don't think im spoiled. i realize some people don't get breaks, but at my job, you need to eat or you will not have energy to do your job. The law's the law. Im not going to justify someone else not getting no breaks as to why I shouldn't get mine. I dont think that's fair.
I think people should be able to sit down for a few minutes and have a bite to eat. It hurts for me to stand on my feet all day.
Besides, if i didnt speak up, no one else was going to, and we were all suffering.

She was (and still is) totally wrong for making you wait and telling you. "That what you get for coming in late." She needs to understand what it means to be a supervisor and you were correct to report her.
Go to your other supervisor and th HR and tell them you are afraid or retaliation and report her AGAIN if she does retaliate.
Some people get real heady and in a power trip when they have some rule over people. They need to be shown that being a supervisor entails having responsibility over the people they have under them and they are not slaves.
PEOPLE HAVE RIGHTS!! GOOD for you!

If you ask me you over reacted. It was disrespectful of you to show up 20 minutes late. I could see if she had a habit of making you take a late lunch but you just said you usually get it at 4 hours. Did you starve to death? No. I work 8-10 hours and only get a 10 minute break if I'm lucky. If you don't like not being able to have your lunch exactly when you want it then you should get a new job. You manager is trying to help run a business.

you should have quit anyway, now when they find a reason to fire you and you say its in retaliation to you reporting your supervisor no one will believe you because they all will deny it ever happened otherwise you would have quit when you reported it. That is why they wanted you to stay, so now when you bring it up after you get fired it will be as tho you are retaliating against them for firing you like a disgruntled employee would. You've been had by the oldest trick in the corporate world.

I know what I'm about to say is going to sound smart-a** , but I think in some ways you need to grow up. Realize that you did get a lunch. I am a engineer where I work at and when the process or tooling fail it is my responsiblity to make the proper repairs and adjustments there have been plenty of 20 hour work days without a break much less a lunch while performing my duties to keep production going.
When you realize that you dont have it that bad mabye you will not complain as much.

If I were her, I would be pissed at you. I don't know how you are going to face her. Instead of bringing it up with her directly, you went over her head for no apparent reason. You tried to get her in trouble, instead of working it out among yourselves. No one like a tattle tail. And frankly, this issue isn't even a big deal. I have been out of college for 12 years now, and been employed at 4 jobs. I have NEVER reported someone for something like this. You know, in todays work environment, you roll with the punches. Sometimes I have to take lunch late. Big deal. It's not worth burning bridges over. You did the wrong thing here.

You really need to grow up. Welcome to the real world, lunch is not always on time. Your lunch was less than an hour late, that doesn't justify a complaint to th HR department. You will not be going far in life with your work ethic.

Why do you not take any responsibility for being late and quite possibly pushed back an entire day's scheduling of lunches, etc. She is monitoring others that may have shown up 20 minutes late as well.
It sounded like her answer was an honest one - albeit not one you wanted to hear.

easily, do your thing andf don't worry about her.....
yea; you were 20 minutes late, but they aren't supposed to justify that wit a late break that just gets her in trouble on her behalf. now as many times as i came in a almost 10 miutes late and ppl have called off they didn't give me a late break.......so that kind of thing doesn't really happen for penalty.......shoot, my supervisors nearly broke their back to make sure we had a break on time and if it wasn't and you said something they let you on break right at that moment.........
thats her problem, not yours so don't worry about her

Start showing up on time so she won't have any reason to misttreat you. Otherwise, it will always be a pissing contest between you two.
