Hitler disliked cigarette smoke and banned people from smoking around him. He did not drink alcohol after he got drunk once and woke up in a field. He didn't stop people from drinking around him but he did not like the smoking.
At the end in the bunker he relaxed his rules and people were smoking in front of him, and he even had a bit of wine or champagne at his wedding.

Tobacco may not have been common, but Germany is built on beer.
If Hitler had tried to ban alcohol he would have never been elected dog catcher much less virtual dictator.

do not think so, but nazi scientists proved a link between smoking and cancer in the late 1930's and Hitler formed a special unit of scout soldiers on Eastern front who were non-smokers, as sense of smell is keener. Red Army and Soviet Partisans used to use a kind of perfume to kill lice in clothes and smoked cheap tobacco both these had very strong smells, and scout soldiers were trained to recognise the smell, and because they do not smoke, they smell it first!!!

I dont think so. But what he did plan to do, after the war was won, was introduce chlorine into the water supply. From this they would be able to influence the population by increasing the volumes. It affects sterility. Interesting that one, probably just a coincidence, Blair would just have been concerned about our teeth.
