that's a tough one, but if i was you i wouldn't add anymore color to the room and i would elimate any white. try painting the walls in your apartment (if you can) a light off white color. get some drapes similar to that color but a bit darker to accent the room. buy candles that correspond all the colors. it will bring the room together wonderfuly. but yes, stay away from the orange and the blue.

I have exactly that in the sitting room of my new flat. I can't make curtains so I hired a lady curtain maker and she brought along a lot of sameples. I chose a striped curtain which are alternate stripes of pale cream and light green. The cream is pretty exact to the walls but the green is slightly lighter than the carpet. The colour combination is fabulous. You may be able to get some ready mades or material if you are handy with a sewing machine in a store like John Lewis which is brilliant for fabrics. Good Luck in you new flat - I'm enjoying mine.

Sorry to say , but both the blue or the terra cotta orange don't sound too visually pleasing with the green carpet. Try a lighter , greyer shade of the green tone. Or a light taupe, like Benjamin Moore's Camouflauge. It is a great pale taupe that should look good with your dark woods and your green carpet.

Stay away from blue it will make you sea sick after looking at it a while; Orange with that color green carpet will make you think you are living in the 50*s
Anything in the Beige, or Tan family will look ok
Or try Kelly green or Chartreuse

1] paint the walls blue, and get a print of rust, blue, and green stripes for curtains or drapes, and throw pillows.
2] paint walls peach, and add rust and turquoise pillows, and turquoise drapes.
3] paint walls pale lime, and add moss green and gold pillows.
Whatever combos you use, add lamps, pictures, candles, vases or flowerpots, in the colors you added. You can make it work beautifully!
[ we lived in a house once with rooms of orange shag, white shag, gold shag, avocado green shag, and powder blue shag. And that's not counting the wallpaper.....]
