HA!
If they ever reinstated the draft.....all the "armchair warriors" who support the war would be heading for the borders of Mexico and Canada to avoid it.
It's one thing to support other people getting their butts shot off; it's quite another thing when it is your own.
I think the issue of drafting women is still up in the air.....guess they will decide that if/when it happens. Personally, I have no problem with drafting women. We are just as capable as anyone else. Weapons are a great equalizer.

On one hand, if the draft is re-instated, people will very likely revolt, just like in the Vietnam era.
On the other hand, all the high school grads and minorities and poor people will become cannon fodder, and a growing population of poor people (who will take the brunt of the messed up economy and their sons dying for a senseless war) will hate the government, and .. revolt..
And if you want to look at it from the Constitutional side, a Draft is UN-constitutional, and any government that obeys and protects the constitution should not even think about messing with the Draft.
So, my answer is.. Hell NO!

As a future officer in three more years, I think that the draft should not be reinstated because I would not want anybody under my command who does have the commitment to fight in the first place. The U.S. military should remain purely a volunteer force.

yes it would be like the viet days. you might find this hard to believe but the draft structure is still in place. i have a friend that lives in lockford, ca that is still on the draft board in his area. i am not sure the people would stand for it any longer but then who knows anything for sure.

well women shoudl not be exempt and my cousin works inthe pentagon and said that with in the next 5 years women will have to register as well as men on their 18th birthday, they should not be exempt now because they can enlist! before women were not permitted to enlist so there was no need to have them register, I think the only survivng man should be exempt as to carry on the family line, also I do not think the draft should come back yet, but I also think it is goignto with-in the next administration if the democrats take over becasue they will cut our forces and N.Korea will pounc eon that opportunity and then we will have to draft, but if you dodge the draft you should be considered a deserter and no longer be able to come back to this counrty
