how can i tell him to back off without being rude about it?

its not rude telling someone to back off...hes your ex your moving on tell him that he has to learn to get past it...

You can't. BE RUDE! I'm not kidding. Be direct and tell him it is over, tell him why, and then let him go, cold turkey. Don't talk to him after. Don't answer his emails and calls. You will be doing HIM a favor, as well as yourself. The sooner and more directly he knows it is done and there is nothing he can do about it, the sooner you BOTH can move on with your lives. It is rough, but it is the best way.

Well some guys need a straight to the point message. Tell him you just want to move forward and date other people, and thats not rude. Even if your hurt his feelings he'll get over it because it is true..."There's a million fish in the sea".

Be upfront and let him know you are no longer interested in him and go on. If he continues to bug you then report him to the proper people.

dont think you can be nice about it, tell him the truth and dont be afraid of hurting him you need to stand up fpr yourself
