I was walking to get in line and this lady, saw where I was going and ran up and cut in front of me and put her stuff up on the belt. She had less then I had, so I let it go. But then she gets up there and realized she forgot something. Instead of her telling the cashier to cancel the order or to cash her out, she runs back to get what she forgot. The cashier being the idiot that he was waited for this women until she got back which had to have taken a good ten minutes. She comes back with a new basket full of stuff. So she goes to pay for her stuff and her card doesnt work. I guess the cashier didnt want to say out loud that she didnt have enough money in the bank, so he kept saying it didnt go threw. Until she wouldnt stop trying to use the card and he had to tell her. Even though I know she knew she didnt have any money in the bank. Why do people act like this?

AP Flash:

Home Depot over the weekend:

Old lady buys some nuts and bolts (you know that's the hardest stuff for the check out people cause none of it is bar coded/price tag)

Old lady goes to pay. Fishes into a seemingly 6ft deep carpetbag for change. Comes out with a fist full of change. No pennies. Needs a penny. Deep dives into the carpet bag again looking for a penny. No luck. Clutching a fist full of coin change she explains to cashier she needs a penny. Returns to the deep dive on the carpet bag.

Finally daughter/some relative enters the store looking for old lady and she offers up the penny for old lady (I had no penny but was ready to had over a dollar bill).

Even though it was an old lady - I broke down and asked - "So lady, you are holding up the line for a penny while you waive a fist full of change at the cashier but you won't take 4 pennies for a nickel. What's your problem?'

Old lady: "Sorry". Daughter/relative: F*** YOU!

So rude.

Selfish. Only thinking how she wants to get home and start using her stuff. The cashier was trained not to show any feelings and to just take whatever happens to him/her...and not void off items if it's possible to avoid doing that...but if you had asked...he should have served you...though frankly, he SHOULD have at least acknowledged you, tried to comfort you. He should have let a CSM know what was going on five minutes into it and then get permission to start on your order and forget hers.

some human beings think of that their server could be bending over backward for a sturdy tip together as others extremely do no longer understand they are being rude. I waited tables a rustic club and additionally you will not have self assurance how snoby and rude the rich human beings there are. a great style of people are not used to eating at eating places or they may well be style of shy yet frequently they do no longer recommend to offend you. once you have purchasers like this, purely provide them the provider you may all of us else and per danger they're going to recover from themselves.

Well, you share your birthday with atleast 9 million other people. Which is more than 10 times the amount you will even think about in your lifetime in individual terms. So chances are good many wont act the way one might prefer.

So why didn't you tell the cashier to cancle her order and wait on you? You have to stand up for yourself or everyone will walk all over you! Then I would have complained to a manager! You LET yourself get treated badly! You have a mouth, use it next time!

You know this is a good question. I would also like to know this. It's the same way in parking lots. Two cars see a spot and will almost run over each other to get to it. I think it is just a pet peeve that people have.

it is acceptable to correct people you should have said something to her like, "You do realize that you cut in front of me and delayed me checking out while you retreived even more items to purchase and then could not pay your bill. In the future I suggest you think about others, and buy what you can afford."

She sounds nuts. Financial difficulties can make people crazy.

If there are other lines you can go to, try that. Sometimes, you just have to move out of their way.
