Just a curious question for those of you in relationships right now. (Or if you said it in a previous relationship.)

It doesn't matter what other people did. Don't say it until you can't physically hold it in anymore. That way you're sure.

The important thing is don't force it. That's it. Say it when you feel comfortable, which pretty much comes down to knowing the person you're dating well, knowing how they will receive it, and also feeling it in your heart. Don't just say it to get a reaction or to test the person.

And if they don't feel comfortable saying it back then don't freak out. Everybody is different. Honestly I think in this crazy and violent world we live in that we should all be saying "I love you" ALOT more. OK, maybe not after one date, creepy, weird. But I mean if you get along great, you laugh together, you've gotten to know each other a little, then why not?!

Once I met this girl and she was in town visiting my friend, and we spent every day together for a week and it was incredible and we said it after a week, which is crazy and not typical, but why not?!

Nowadays it depends how much time you spend together. If you see each other almost every day then maybe after a month is fine if you feel it. If you see each other once per week then it will definitely take longer, who knows, maybe 2 months to 6 months? There ARE no rules, everybody is different, just go with your gut.

In my previous relationship I was the first one to say it and it was after 4 months. In the one before it he was the first one to say it and that was after 6 months.

I have been in the same relationship for almost 12 years now and it took me about 3 years to tell him that I loved him, even though he was telling me at about 2 years. We were both married and divorced so we were in no hurry.

I wasn't even dating yet when I told her I loved her. A bit abnormal sure, but we've been married almost 11 years now, so I guess it worked out.

Until I felt love. Love takes time. Get to know the person well, before you open your heart to love.
