The problem isn't that guys are afraid of commitment or marriage. The problem is that women think about it much sooner in the relationship than guys, generally. So when you say, "how do you feel about marriage?" to your boyfriend he thinks, 'Oh man, already? I'm not ready for that.' So he panics because he thinks she expects a proposal, and she gets upset because he doesn't even want to discuss it.

Also, the stereotype that guys don't talk about their feelings is largely true. Most guys don't want to have a serious discussion about how they feel, they likely haven't really thought about it themselves.

Fear of commitment is a myth. The myth has come about because no two people have ever been at exactly the same point in a relationship at the same time. When one is ready for some big next step they can't wait to tell the other. Of course the other person isn't there yet and the one who is has just put huge pressure on them.

One of two things happens here. They lie and say they are. Or they tell the truth and the other person immediately falls apart and cries "fear of commitment".

Of course the relationship is doomed at that point because the person crying can't resist asking every 5 minutes "are we there yet" and of course each time they ask they push the other person farther from that commitment because they're acting like a desperate clingy psycho.

Committment phobic. Fear of committment. Sometimes it is as simple as thinking if they get married or into a relationship they are going to miss something, like the next girl that comes along. Sometimes it is as complicated as knowing that the person who is not committing to you is from the family of divorce and doesnt want to go through that again. Check into each case cause it is bound to be something slightly different with each guy

Some of us were always looking for commitment just with the right girl.

Other men just want their cake and eat it too.

The reason why they get scared is because they are boys not men.

Because I am still paying for my lawyer bill and spousal support from the last time it was supposed to be happily ever after.
