I've found a recipe that I would love to try. However, it requires me to brown meat and potatoes in a pan and then put it in the oven (in the same pan).

So, what's safe in both oven and on top of stove??

Anything that doesn't have rubber-coated handles. Cast iron, Le Creuset, stainless steel, copper, those are all heat safe.

Cast iron and Corning ware. Some high end pots and pans, too. Just avoid plastic or wood handles.

Any pan that has no plastic parts like handles or nobs. All stainless steel, aluminum with steel handles, cast iron, etc.

Cast Iron Skillet. But be sure to get a silicon handle holder or glove because those things are heavy and get hot.
