Using Limewire (or anything else) to download files that are under copyright (music, movies, software etc) is illegal. If you have to pay for it in a store or through iTunes but can get it free through Limewire, then it's illegal. Using Limewire to share or download open source software is legal. Using it to share or download something that you created and own the rights to is legal. But using it to share or download material that's under copyright is copyright infringement, and carries a fine of up to $150,000.00 per file illegally shared or downloaded.

Having Limewire on your computer is perfectly legal. If someone at Limewire told you is was legal to download something with a filter, they just plain lied to you. Anything copyrighted that you download from Limewire or anyplace else is illegal. Period.

Limewire is legal as long as you aren't pirating music and videos and such. But honestly, you couldnt PAY me to put Limewire on my computer. Limewire is a virus cestpool.
and btw, be honest, you know you want to use limewire for illegal activities. By now, everyone knows downloading copywrited material from these programs is illegal.
If you want to get videos and music and such, use a torrent. I recommend bitTorrent or Azureus with websites such as piratebay.org or torrentspy.com. You can find all the files listed on limewire, except without the viruses.

limewire uses filters meaning in a different way. filters is just to filter what you search. like to filter adult content in the search results, or filter specific words you do not want to be searched. this is useful if you have a kid using limewire.
but you can search almost any song. but don't download copyrighted stuffs.
just don't download anything ending with .exe unless really know what it is. its a virus.

Filters don't matter. LimeWire is perfectly legal so long as you don't download any copyrighted songs or movies. That is it. If you want a pop song or movie, then pay for it.
