or those who say Islam was spread by sword tell me what sword is forcing people in the West to accept Islam in such large numbers? Today the fastest growing religion in America is Islam. The fastest growing religion in Europe in Islam.
Muslims ruled Spain for about 800 years. The Muslims in Spain never used the sword to force the people to convert. Later the Christian Crusaders came to Spain and wiped out the Muslims. There was not a single Muslim in Spain who could openly give the adhan, that is the call for prayers.
Indonesia is a country that has the maximum number of Muslims in the world. The majority of people in Malaysia are Muslims. May one ask, "Which Muslim army went to Indonesia and Malaysia?"
The Muslims ruled India for about a thousand years. If they wanted, they had the power of converting each and every non-Muslim of India to Islam. Today more than 80% of the population of India are non-Muslims. All these non-Muslim Indians are bearing witness today that the sword did not spread Islam
With which sword was Islam spread? Even if Muslims had it they could not use it to spread Islam because the Qur’an says in the following verse:
"Let there be no compulsion in religion:
Truth stands out clear from error"

The best reply to the misconception that Islam was spread by the sword is given by the noted historian De Lacy O’Leary in the book "Islam at the cross road" (Page 8):
"History makes it clear however, that the legend of fanatical Muslims sweeping through the world and forcing Islam at the point of the sword upon conquered races is one of the most fantastically absurd myth that historians have ever repeated."
Islam spread fast because its the truth, christians didn't have to deny Jesus peace be upon him to become Muslims, When Islam was presented to them the right way they accepted it, not by the CNN

I can't say 100% for sure but whenever someone claims that he or she has personally met with an angel or with God Himself, they are bound to attract the attention of many people.
Muhammad gathered people around him who believed in worshipping many gods and were probably unhappy with their spiritual life so were happy to embrace a new religion-one that taught them to worship just one God.
At some point, however, Muhammad changed from sharing his teachings to openly rebuking those who still clung to worshiping the many gods, which caused them to become angry with him. He was also rejected by the Jews and Christians as some of his teachings were against their beliefs. He changed from being peaceful to becoming more and more physically aggressive in promoting his new religion and added in new teachings about killing those who would not accept his revelations.
This is in stark contrast to the Christian religion which gained converts quickly-with reports of 5,000 and 3,000 within a very short time (weeks) due to the miracles they saw and received from the apostles of Jesus. Sadly, the Christians later, to a great extent, forgot about the need to depend on the Holy Spirit's gifts for evangelizing so the Church did not grow as fast.

The mongols, who killed millions of Muslims and then embraced the religion of the ones they conquered, spread the faith by turning their armies into Europe.

Allah guide whom he wills, if it was spread by the sword, than why wasnt christanity or any other faith spread by the sword so far and so fast

because truth has a way to peoples hearts... islam could have never spread this fast if by the sword... that is complete non-sense....
