Duh; I and other Catholics have been saying this for almost two weeks. Anyone who bothered to read the actual document knows the news reports were erroneous.

Yes. I read the sensationalistic news reports and knew that I needed to study the matter further. I went to the source and discovered that the news media was misinterpreting what the Vatican had said.
The Pope said it clear and simple: Other churches are ecclesial communities which are tools of salvation.

The Vatican Clarification teaches that Protestant and other Non Catholic Christian Churches and 'ecclesial communities" are "instruments of salvation".

Well that's a relief. A lot of us wondered what on earth the Pope thought he would accomplish by marching us double-time back towards the dark ages.

It will get kind of embarassing changing their views back and forth. Do you think any that stood up for the "incorrectly interpretted" message will now apologize. Maybe they know about it already and have been keeping mum all day. Hmmmm.
