Traditionally the groom's parents pay for the rehersal dinner and the honeymoon (If you are lucky!)
Most of the cost is on the Bride's parents or the bride and groom.
But they can always break tradition and get together with your parents and find out if there is something they can help with (Like the cake or the DJ)
Good Luck to you on your big day!
:)

"Traditionally, the parents of the groom take care of a few of the expenses including: the marriage license, officiant's fee, corsages, boutonnieres, the bride's bouquet, groomsmen gifts, liquor, and the reception DJ or band. And the bride’s parents pay for everything else. Then again, today’s guidelines of who pays for what are very flexible -- many times, the parents of the bride and groom will split the wedding expenses in half, or sometimes into thirds, depending on whether the couple pitches in. In the end, the amount of money you contribute depends upon your financial situation and how much you’re willing to contribute."

They do the rehearsal dinner, and maybe the alcohol at the reception.
Since your family is paying for the wedding, maybe you should do it the way your family wants it done.

Not to sound insulting, but why would they pay for any of it? I mean, if you pay for it, you get to choose what you want and not worry about it.
Just think about it. In the long run, wouldn't you rather them just be involved on your special day with your future husband and have it be nice and memorable? Or would you rather go thru this craziness and completely stress out until you actually get married?
God bless!
