My boyfriend and i have been together for 5months, i'm 20, he's 26. I live with my parent still and my boyfriend lives an hour away so he comes to see me every thursday -sunday. His mother also lives about 5 miles from me since this is his hometown. He has been staying with me at my house overnight every time he comes down and recently my mother told me she doesn't want him staying over anymore because it looks shabby and it's against her beliefs..why does she wait until we're five months in our relationship to say anything?? After we're so much more close than at the beginnning of the relationship? and we're both well above 18, so i don't see what the problem is. She also loves him and gets along with him great!

it all boils down to this.

her house her rules, If you don't want to follow her rules just tell her you are moving out and get your own place, then move out and do whay you want.

Of course you don't see the problem with this, because you're 20.

It's very disrespectful to do this in your mother's home, especially if she feels it's against her beliefs.

If you want to live the way you want to live move out and get your own place.

Also, a 26 year old male, should have better respect for you and your mother. He knows better.

Whether you agree with it or not, it's her home and no matter your age, if you live with your parents, you should respect their rules.

Why not go stay at your boyfriend's house when he comes home? Or does his mother have a problem with that?

The problem is, It is her house, not yours. She is un comfortable with your arrangement.
If you want to continue you should get your own place.
