Hah, great point.

Christian kids get two male gods, and one god you're not even sure about...what's that going to do to them?

That is why its good to be a Mormon. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints holds that God is married, that he has a wife. That is how Genesis can say that God created man--male and female--in his image. It was actually in the image of God and "Goddess," Male and Female Deity. We are all a part of God's family. We see the human family as a natural model (and extension) of the Heavenly original family. Thus, there is no reason to be concerned about two male gods or two female gods, the true pattern is the male-female combination, "on Earth as it is in Heaven."

Christian bigots always blabber on about the ideal Mom Dad scenario, family values etc. it really is an ideal in a utopian and often unrealistic way, but it's funny that they want a single male parent as a God and not what should be their ideal male/ female God duo isn't it?...there is no consistency.

What is worse is the mental child abuse of religious indoctrination of a child.

It is so cruel to take a young developing mind and tell them how that if they are bad they will burn in hell forever, that their friends who aren't the same faith will burn in hell.

Children should be exposed to the concepts of all religions through out their development and allowed to make their own choice as an adult about their faith.

If a faith is good and worth merit it should appeal to adults without the indoctrination of the mind of the child.

Love is the way to God ^^.
You teach a child Violence they in turn become Violante..
you teach a child with anger they become angry.
You teach a child with kindness
they in turn are kind.

It is all what you believe as your foundation. Some in my eyes may be off the beating path. But, the most important thing you could ever show and teach a child is....
LOVE
As always,

God role models, huh? I thought JESUS was the only God role model that we need. IF my kids are going to come to know God through my wife or me then they won't know much about God.

definitely, the romans knew what they were doing... bring back all 12 olympians and their mates, this way we'll have all types of role models, of good of bad and of some things in the middle. of balance between yin and yang, earth and sky.
weather they'll be more empathic or less or more violent, who knows... the polytheists weren't too ... er... pacific. and if it's just a goddess... dunno about all goddesses... they can be violent too.

I think kids can grow up just fine and established, with two loving parents. And if they are growing up with one parent, I know plenty of well adjusted adults that are doing fine.
