I believe that one person can definitely make a difference. Of course there are very rarely these situations, but whether it's good or bad - one person can make all the difference. Example - Hitler. Hitler single handedly over ran Germany, annexed other countries to Germany, making it a super-Germany, and prosecuted thousands upon thousands of Jewish people, homosexual people, and gypsies.

With this example - one person really can change what happens around you. It might now always be good - but it's a change none the less.

Yep. There's a saying - something like...

You may only be one person in the world -but you could be the world to one person.

I absolutely can make a difference about what happens around me. It's my choice.

i.e. - I can get up - and drive to work angry and flip people off and gossip when I get to work - and backstab my co-workers and steal from my employers and yell at the people at the lunch counter and go home and kick the cat and eat junk food and play music so loud that my neighbor can't sleep.

OR - Get up and bless the day. Be grateful for the warm shower. Let people out into traffic - and wave and smile. Arrive and work and spread some joy around the office. Work and make a difference for my company and/or the world. Share lunch with a friend - and laugh. Go home and pet the cat - and feed her. Read for inspiration. Sleep - soundly.

My choice. And most defintely making a difference regarding what happens around me.

Yes. Because I gave up a baby girl 24 years ago this year - she made a family VERY happy. She is doing well and recently found me off the adoption website. I'm going through an abusive divorce right now and could use all the REAL love I can get. Her words to me are: 'you have nothing to forgive'. Is she the greatest or what??? If I had aborted her - I would of hurt God, me AND her parents. If I had kept her - it wouldn't have been a rich fullfilling life like she has now. God bless her soul!! What we do with our lives has to be thought out to the point of 'what if I were in THEIR shoes' before we make a complete decision. One may be bad, but will be good for the other. The decision needs to be unselfish. VERY hard to do at 22 - but I did it. Thank GOD I did!

yes, i do believe that. just look at Paul (used to be Saul) in the Bible. When he wasn't a Christian, he had a huge impact even though it was negative, but he had an even bigger impact when he was a Christian.

Yeah, i believe that you can make a difference on what happens around you. For example, our youth group just went on a missions trip. We definately made an impact on those around us! I got to lead a child to Christ the first day!

Just pray for the opportunity and God will give that to you. Check out Jabez' story in 1 Chronicles 4:9-10. He prayed to make a difference and God granted his request. I believe that one person can make a HUGE difference. I mean, Jesus definately made a world of difference! feel free to email me anytime. God Bless you

Four people are probably the greatest examples throughout history:

Abraham - founded the concept of one God and from this branch the Jewish, Christian, and Islamic faiths.

Jesus Christ - his teachings led to the formation of the Christian faith and was looked to as the Son of God sent to Earth by Christians and a Prophet by Muslims.

Muhammad - his teachings led to the formation of the Islamic faith and was seen as the Last Prophet by Muslims, but is often looked to as a false prophet by other religions.

Adolph Hitler - leader of the Nazi Party in Germany in from the late 1920's through his death in 1945. His book Mein Kampf and his ideologies led to the murdering of countless lives in concentration camps across Europe, including 6 million Jews, and he incited the first invasions of World War II against Poland in 1939.

Of their own, no. In JESUS one person can change the world. JESUS takes the little we give HIM and makes it much more. JESUS HIMSELF is the best example of this, being just a seed, but from HIS seed has grown the Catholic Church and all those who are CHRISTian but diverge from the core teachings of the CHURCH. In any case JESUS was just one man who started a new religion, but being GOD this religion has become a powerful CHURCH which is the means by which GOD will bring salvation to mankind.

LOVE your neighbor as yourself.
Amen.

:responsorial edit: As to Hitler and Bush making a world of difference. Being infamous and causing a world of hurt does not count as to changing the world, it is ruining the world. It is an arguable point of course. Bush has the privaledge to be president during a very dubious period in history . . .

of course you can make a difference, I have. I have made differences with one person at a time for the past ten years. There are ten people walking around today that I personally took in hand, and rehabilitated. all I did was ask myself what I could to do to be part of the solution, because if you aren't part of the solution, you ARE a part of the problem.

I think a person can make a huge difference around themselves. as long as they have the right knowledge and put enough effort in.

For the bad...Hilter, Stalin, Pol Pot, Jim Jones etc. etc.

i thik if every person changed how they acted and was truly themselves then everyone could make a difference. sometimes you might not notice when your helping someone out. i mean putting a smile on ur face always laughing not letting pl bring you down change what ppl think about you hwen they re near you. to be noticed or to change teh world you can start off with sumthin as simple as a smile everyday. i think if you put ur mind to it you can trully do it.
