I felt threaten and pushed the person away, now he's trying to get me fired for putting my hands on him to push him away.

You handled it better than I did. Personally, I would have laid him out on the floor. That being said, he technically can have you dismissed for pushing him eventhough he started the confrontation. If I were you, I'd talk to the HR director and explain to them what happened if he tries to make it an issue. The ideal outcome would be for ya'll to just let it pass. Technically his actions could be seen as harrassment which is grounds for termination in most workplaces.

First of all: why is this under environment? Secondly: sorry, but you made the wrong choice. As irritating and threatening as the person might have been, they didn't touch you. Your reaction is probably exactly what the person was going for and I recommend that if you are ever put in that position again that you just walk away.

Step back and walk away facing them. Since you were at work you were in a controlled environment.

Ask them politely if you can gently touch their finger. If they accept, grasp said finger and use it to remove that annoying booger in your nose that was probably a contributing factor to their anger in the first place.

And if they decline, tell them to stop waving that stubby little thing in your face.

I probably would have bit his finger, or yelled at the top of my voice. Bullies need to be stood up to. Counter charge him with harassment, if you do get fired.

That isn't an environment question. It is more of a Society & Culture question.

If you get fired for that then you've lost a really crappy job.
