My mom & dad at age 81 , had a confirmed by pain , x-rays , M.R.I. a torn meniscus on her right knee and was on her way
to the O.R. . They ( doctors ) requested one last x-ray before
her scheduled surgery and , to their surprise found nothing but
the tear had completely healed . My mother then told them that
she went up to an alter call for faith healing service in her church as her husband did a while ago . She said after the service her knee did stop hurting , but thought the meds just finally started to work ! She's , off the cane now and walking like nothing ever happened . She is also
scheduled for a follow up M.R.I. in 5 weeks just so the doctors
can stop shaking their heads ..... A simular one happened with
my earthly father but his was cancer (palups) if spelled right ?
He is completely healed as well !! . Belief , Faith , Prayer , God , I believe . But what would your thoughts be as someone
who does not hold a belief ?

Ok , I have to ask about the placebo thing . I know they can work by the power of suggestion . But a 1inch tear completely healed in two days .....do they
really heal flesh wounds over night per say ....

many docotors are wrong a lot of the times. my aunt and uncle and my grandma all had this same problem (i will explain the problem later in the answer), they all went to american doctors and the doctors all siad that all three of them had cancer, and there was no chance to save them and they would die. then they went to a doctor in a different country (i dont want to give the name since it would degrate america big time) and the doctors said that there was something wrong with their stomach, and water had gotton stuck there. my grandma and my uncle got this surgery and go the water removed, and my aunts body healed itslef where the diegestive system was back and the water flooded out by iteslf. they were perfect after that. my grandma prayed to god all her life, and she was the one who got surgery, and my aunt, an athiesist was 'miraculously' cured.

there was even this episode of youse when he fires chase and the other two in his team leave him. what happend was that they thought this girl was dead, so they put her on bypass, and then they took her off bypass cuz they lost all hope. she came back to life. it was unexpalnabale at first, but then house went like mabey there was no error in surgery in the first place, mabey it was gods error. and then they checked and it turned out she had 3 of these vessles that she was only supposed to have 2 of. so her heart shut down. they did surgery and it went sucsessful this time they knew what they were doing. and then he god pissed everytime anyone said she got miraculously healed by god (cuz she woke up from bypass alive) cuz house knew that if anything it was gods fault, not his miracle.

will power can do a lot if you really want to live.

Let's say for the sake of the argument that you are reporting the story truthfully, the fact that your mom's knee healed after faith healing does not mean it healed because of it.

To make sure that faith healing work you would need to run a double-blind experiment with a significantly large population of patients, just like with any medical act, drug or technique.

In other words you would need "true" faith healers and "false" faith healers that would perform the act unbeknownst to the patient. The analysis of the results would have to be performed without knowledge of who got the real faith healing and who got the fake one.

From one example of seemingly miraculous healing I cannot deduce anything.
The problem is, assuming it is a valid medical technique based on one specific case is committing an "post hoc, ergo hoc" fallacy. That is, assuming that because the events (faith healing and actual healing) follow each other, one is the cause for the other.

There are reports all the time of unexplained healing, be it by a spiritual person or not. Just because it's unexplained doesn't mean that it had some divine intervention.
Also, you'd be surprised by the power of suggestibility. That's why placebos have such a profound effect. So, the mere idea that one may be healed may facilitate in healing.... no divine intervention needed.

for me someone who doesnt hold a belief in gods, i would ask the doctors how this is possible and how often this spontaneous cure happens , i wouldnt use belief faith prayer god etc responsible, if it is extremely unlikely according to the doctors or even impossible , i would think they made a mistake the first time. But for now i tend to believe that the story you are telling is not true.

Faith can move mountains, what can I say. Believe and you will achieve. More power to your Mom and Dad. Even if I don't have that kind of powerful experience, any special manifestations from God is a confirmation of His existence. Because from small and simple things, great things come to pass. (like from a prayer for instance.)

Coincidence. Faulty first x-ray. Or you made it up. One of those.

Had your mother prayed, and had the injury not been healed, you wouldn't be here talking about it.

Had your mother prayed to a different God, and the injury had been healed, you wouldn't be here talking about it.

Had your mother not prayed to a god, and the injury had been healed, you wouldn't be here talking about it.

You just happened to get the one option of praying to the God you choose and having something be consequently healed, which is the only reason you're here. There was no causation involved. Only coincidence (or one of those other things).

The mind of man is capable of healing when given the proper impetus. Your mother's impetus was prayer. Other impetuses are equally as effective. I like to think of a pretty pink, white and gold light around the injury. Works every time!

The mind is very powerful. Have you ever heard of the placebo effect? Scientifically, there could have been many explanations for her rapid recovery. Believe what you want but I have my own methods.

Gee whiz, what a complete and utter waste of their lives all the doctors, surgeons etc have made. If only they had just not bothered with 10 years of med school. Who knew!!!

It is perfectly normal for the human body to heal its own injuries. Neither gods nor faith healers nor doctors are required for this everyday "miracle."
